The following day, I was in the lab with Grace and Norm, packing science gear and supplies.

"We're going up into the mountains. There's a mobile link up at Site 26 that we can work out of. I'm sick of Quaritch and Selfridge micromanaging everything," Graced stated, annoyed.

We were finally making progress with the Na'vi and Grace was getting concerned that Quaritch would ruin it again by watching us.

"The hallelujah mountains?" Norm asked.

"That's right," Grace responded.

"Yess let's gooo," he said happily. He turned to me and noticed my confused face. "The legendary Floating Mountains of Pandora? Heard of them?"

"No I haven't actually and you don't need to be an ass about it, Norm. I'm sick of you acting different around me just because the Na'vi chose to teach me," I said. I was done with how he was treating me

"I just don't understand why they would pick you. You know nothing about how they live and behave. It makes no sense to me."

"It makes no sense to me either but for some stupid reason, Eywa gave them a sign to keep me alive. You have an issue take it up with her for all I care but leave me alone about it."

"Alright, kids now that you're done with your little hissy fit let's get going," Grace said, grabbing her stuff and making her way out to see Trudy.

Norm and I didn't say anything and just followed after her.

After we found Trudy, we loaded up the Samson and made our way to the hallelujah mountains.

In the sealed cockpit, Norm was sitting up front, sitting left seat so Trudy can talk him through flight controls. Grace and I were behind them, in the jump seats. Grace and Norm's unconscious avatars ride in the open back compartment.

As we make our way around hills, trees, and cliffs, we noticed there were enormous arches of rock that made the Samson look small compared to them.

"See those magnetic formations. We're getting close," Grace stated.

"Yeah, we are. Look at my instruments," Trudy said, pointing to her dash.

I looked over her shoulder and noticed that many of the displays on her dash were frizzing out.

"Yup. We're in the flux vortex," Grace said.

I moved my eyes from the dash and looked forward. The clouds moved apart as we continued forward, revealing the hallelujah mountains.

"Oh. My God," Norm and I said at the same time.

I leaned forward between the seats to get a better look out of the front of the Samson. There were enormous islands of rock hovering above the ground. They were overgrown with vines and plants that hang down beneath them. Waterfalls streamed down the sides and dissolved into spray at the bottom. I had never seen anything like it before. It was gorgeous.

Trudy and Grace both looked at me at the same time. Grace smiled and Trudy let out a chuckle.

"You should see your face right now," Trudy said, smirking.

"What holds them up?" I asked, keeping my eyes on the floating rocks.

"It all has to do with superconductors. When superconductors are in the presence of a magnetic field, they can float," Grace answered.

"Amazing," I whispered.

We made our way around a corner and came across site 26. It was a remote research station with two shacks and a few instruments perched near the mountains. The shacks were airlift modules the size of buses.
