Everything was a blur and just when he thought he could grasp a glimpse of reality, it would be ripped Away from him and the sea of darkness would submerge him again.
He had grown numb to the burning in his veins, so much so that he almost found comfort in its presence. He welcomed it until his body would reject the poison and the cycle would restart.
At one point, he heard voices fading in and out with each new wave of darkness. Who did the voices belong to? His head would be full of distant thoughts but then they would disappear again.
Opening his eyes just a crack, he quickly closed them again at the harsh stark white that surrounded him. He tried this again until his eyes adjusted to the brightness. He lifted his hand to rub his eyes but hissed sharply in pain as he felt a stinging sensation on his wrist. The clinking and rattling of metal hit his ears and he wanted to flinch away. He glanced down at his wrist and internally cursed whoever put shackles on him but then he paused as his eyes traveled down to the IV taped to his hand. What was that doing there? He noticed the IV on his left hand as well. His eyes traveled to the door of his room as he heard voices behind it.
"...If we give him food or blood, won't that give him energy to try and escape?" A unknown female voice spoke.
"Nah, it would take him a long time to get back to normal. We just need to keep him alive enough to keep drawing blood." Josh said. A series of beeps sounded and the door opened. Tyler quickly closed his eyes as he heard the two pairs of footsteps approach his bed.
Tyler felt light-headed and spots of color swirled behind his eyelids. He felt a wave of nausea roll over him and he tried his best to ignore the feeling. What was going on?
"Tyler? Are you finally awake?" Josh's soft voice sounded close to his ear and he tried to muster up the strength to send him a warning growl but instead it was a weak whimper. He had no strength. He slowly opened his eyes and met Josh's brown ones.
"W-What...have... y-you...done?" Tyler croaked in a whisper. He groaned weakly and truly realized how exhausted he felt. The nausea he was experiencing was growing stronger.
He sat up as best as he could in a rush and hung his head over the side of the bed. His body lurched and shook as dark liquid splattered onto the white floor. He coughed and gagged until it was finally over. His breaths were heavy and his vision grew spotty again. His body was trembling and a cold sweat washed over him.
"You puked all over my shoes!"
Tyler weakly tilted his head up to find a very furious Josh still standing beside his bed.
And even though he felt like he was going to pass out, he smirked triumphantly at Josh.
"Oops." He sneered sarcastically. He didn't have a single ounce of remorse for the man. He was poisoning him to the point that he would be sick. This was his fault.
If looks could kill, then Tyler would be a smoldering pile of ash under joshes glare. He was not amused and certainly not going to let the slide. Tyler laid back in his bed and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, being careful of the device attached to his hand. he couldn't help but smugly grin at the red haired man. "Maybe if you weren't such a selfish fool, you wouldn't have a mess to clean up."
