Arriving at home Jay felt all of the day's worries slipped away, he couldn't wait to get home to his wife Y/N and Evelyn -Evelyn Hazel Halstead, his pride and joy-.

Even from the outside of your two-story house laughter could be heard coming from the house.

Walking through the front door his ears instantly heard a pitter patter coming towards him at full speed and he knew who it was, so he bent down opening his arms.

"Hey there's my beautiful baby girl!" he said smiling

Picking up his 3-year-old and kissing all over her face while you watched her giggle in her fathers arms from the kitchen doorframe.

That's all he needed every night when coming home, his baby girl and his beautiful wife.

You made your way towards them so you could join the family hug, to which Jay threw his arm around you giving you a kiss. Your daughter push you slightly away from Jay, making both of you laugh,

"no..." she whined

"Missy, I married him first you know" you chuckled

"no uh" Eve said to you while shaking her head making her ginger locks bounce -yeah ginger, she got the ginger Halstead gene-.

Green eyes, ginger hair and slight freckles -she looked just like Jay, with the exception of the hair- oh yeah and the sass that was pure Jay Halstead behavior.

After Jay reassured her that he was only hers, she smiled big, giving him a kiss on the cheek before running to the living room to play with her toys -she knew she had him wrapped in her fingers-.

You had gone to the kitchen to make sure the food didn't burn until you felt a couple of hands wrapping around your waist and planting a kiss on your shoulder,

"I missed you" he murmured

"Me too. She has you wrapped around her tiny fingers; you know?" you said as he smirked

"What are those?" he paused before pointing to a vase with roses that was sitting on the kitchen table.

You turned around to face him and smiled,

"Flowers... they're not mine if that's what you're trying to ask. Stop that you look like a fish" you said laughing

Jay who had his eyebrows furrowed and was opening and closing his mouth. Relaxation crossed his features before he started shaking his head and dragging his hand on his face,

"Nope, throw them out...now" he said pointing at the flowers

"Jay..."

"Nope who was it?" he asked with a serious expression still with his hands on your waist.

"Why? Are you going to arrest a 3-year-old?" he gave you a pointed and unamused look, so sighing you answered,

"Chadwick a boy in her day care"

"Chadwick?" he repeated with a disgusted look

"Mhm...what?" you furrowed your eyebrows,

"Who names their kid Chadwick, what in the fu..."

"Jay Halstead!" he raised his hands in surrender,

"She like him or something?" he gave you a worried yet horrified expression which made you laugh cupping his face,

"Baby, they're 3, I'm pretty sure is harmless"

"No..." he whined throwing his head back out of your grasp.

Before leaving the kitchen and you were pretty sure as to where he was going so you slowly followed him to the living room, standing on the doorframe.

You saw him sit down legs crossed behind his daughter, looking at Eve with heart eyes before pulling her to his chest -she didn't even protest-,

"Daddy!" she exclaimed as he smiled at her.

"You got to stop growing up..." he whispered into her hair giving her a kiss.

You just watched him, the side of your mouth going up a bit, before he looked at you,

"I thought I had at least 15 years before the whole boy crap" he looked at you with a sad expression.

"Honey, it's just flowers, they're not getting married... she's daddy's girl" you said as you stopped in front them and caressed his cheek.

"That's righ, daddy is the only man in your life, right?"

"Yaaa" she responded which made you both smile a little.

"...and it better stay that way" he muttered under his breath while kissing her head and rocking her side to side while she just snuggled to him.

"Babe you can't really be serious" you said chuckling at his protective-dad mode.

He looked at you raising one eyebrow to which you raised your hands in surrender. There was no changing his mind,

"Oh I am. She's not having a boyfriend until I'm dead...plus two weeks just to make sure" he said as he's eyes got lost on a thought -maybe a murder plan-

You bursted out laughing and shaking your head. Sitting down with them leaning your head on his shoulder.

Jay glanced at you giving you a quick kiss and putting his head on top of yours while you both looked at your little family.

"I still don't like it" he muttered

"Don't expect you to" you giggled
