Jay drove frantically towards Chicago Med, obviously being careful not to crash the car with his very pregnant, very much in labor wife. Just when his thoughts were driving to another world, he was pulled out by his high school sweetheart and wife Y/N grabbing his hand in a tight grip as another contraction hit.

"Oh my god, they weren't joking about the pain, I already know he's going to be a force to be wrecked with" you scrunched your eyes shut as if that would help the pain disappear.

And boy were you feeling every bit of pain and did you regret that time you laughed with Hailey -your husband's work partner- saying they couldn't be that bad, well yeah you were regretting a lot of things including that, because damn they were worse. Jay watched silently glancing back and forth between the love of his life and future mother of his child and the street. Trying not to have and accident because then you would kick his ass.

"You alright honey? Got a hard grip there, can I have my hand back?" Jay tried to ease the tension and maybe make you laugh but you were having none of it.

"Oh- so- so you think you're funny now, I'm just peachy not like I'm going to give birth or anything" You appreciated him trying to keep your mind of off the pain. He just nodded his head and continued driving while you still had his hand in yours, his tracing patterns in your knuckles with his thumb and giving you that look- God -that look of just love and compassion.

Not long after that you were pulling up to the parking lot at the hospital. Jay didn't wait a second to jump out of the truck feeling exited but scared at the same time, although he couldn't show that to you because this time it was about you and keeping you calm so there wouldn't be any complications.

He wouldn't risk this, not for all the money in the world this moment right here this was topping his 3 favorite moments. First being the time, when he met you back in the ninth grade, you guys were just kids, but he knew- right then and there that he some day would marry you. The second favorite the first time he saw you walking down the aisle not believing for a second that you really were going to marry him, because in his words -he was not enough for the most amazing woman he's ever met- of course you thought that was bullshit. And the third, well you guys were going through it now and he couldn't have asked for a better life partner and mother of this child and the future ones.

He helped you get out of the truck swinging the bags on his shoulders then started walking by himself leaving you there with your mouth hanging open -was he not going to help you or what-.

"Ahm- excuse me dear husband of mine, aren't you gonna wait for me? I can't walk like you. I'm, 9 months pregnant and about to give birth" you sassed because guess what?

He was walking like he was on a Black Friday sale, and he wanted to get the biggest TV that he could get his hands on -it almost gave you flashbacks, yeah you weren't going to another one of those with him. Never. Ever again- when he heard your voice he turned around with an innocent smile.
