"Sit down and I'll make the food." I told him as I stood from the counter.

"I thought you were trying to feed me not kill me." He chuckled as he sat on a chair. I rolled my eyes as I opened the counter and took out five cup noddles. "Might as well do both." I responded as I took out a bowl and spilled all the five noddles and their spices inside. I poured water inside the bowl and put the bowl inside the microwave with a 4 minutes timer.

"Are you okay ?" I asked him as I laid my hands on the counter and faced him.

"Yeah." He sighed. "Python striked again last night."

"Stop stressing yourself and beating yourself up when it comes to her. You couldn't have predicted it or stopped it."

"I just feel like I'm not doing enough and if I was, she wouldn't get away every fucking time. She's always a step ahead. She never makes a mistake. I don't even have the energy to investigate this one because I know it will be a dead end. Just like the hundreds of others." He chuckled bitterly.

"You'll find her." I went up to hug him. I sighed as I held him close to me. I feel like such a liar and a backstabber. A selfish, manipulating, betraying, lying human being. I know the truth and yet I kept quiet. I know the person he's looking for and yet I kept quiet. I'm the person he's looking for and yet I kept quiet. I feel like a horrible human being, I want nothing in this world than to tell him the truth. But I won't, because I'm a corwad and I'm protecting myself. That's how selfish of a person I am. I don't deserve him, I don't deserve holding him so close, let alone breath the same air as him.

The microwave beeped and we pulled away. I pecked his lips and went to the get the food. I took out the bowl of full cooked noodles and put it on the counter. I took two forks from the utensils drawer and gave one to him as I sat down.

"This is actually good." He chuckled in suprise after he tasted them.

"They are noodles, did you think I'd burn them or something ?" I asked as I pretended to be offended.

"Can you blame me ? You forgot to pour water the last time." He said and we laughed.

"Well when you put it that way it sounds fair." I laughed. "But I've learnt my lesson. Noddles need water."

"Give me the moneyyyyyyy!!!!!-"

"No." He interrupted me.

"What do you mean no ?" I asked him as I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Baby you were in jail seconds ago and you got out god knows how. Now you want me to pay bail when you didn't ?" He raised his eyebrow in question.

"Jeez you saw that ?" I said as I gave him the thousand rands for bail. "I thought I got away with it."

He chuckled. "Yeah you're not fooling me. The biker stepped into my property too so you give me the moneyyyyyyy!!"

"I don't wanna play anymore." I said as I gave him five hundred and he laughed at me.

"You don't want to play cause you've been caught cheating ?" He laughed.

"This is monopoly with real money. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do." I told him.
We've been playing for four hours now and I can shamelessly say, I lost seven thousand. I tried cheating but as you can see. Things didn't go my way.

Me and Kenny were putting away the monopoly when his phone rang. He picked it up and listened to whoever was on the phone.

"Okay I'll be there." He said as he hung up.

"You're leaving again." I said as I stood up.

"Yeah. I'm needed at the station. We've been holding a suspect for questioning for days now and he isn't talking. He just tried to escape." He explained to me.

"What is he suspected for ?"

"He's part of a gang. We wanted him to tell us everything about their operations but he isn't cracking. We even offered him his freedom in exchange for the information but.." He shrugged his shoulders.

"What gang ?" I asked him hoping that it isn't someone from our gang. If it is then I know that this will anger my dad. I don't need Kenny angering my dad more than he is now and putting his own life in danger.

"Some gang called the Killer Kings.. something like that." He said and I felt myself relax. As long as it's not our gang-wait did he say Killer Kings ?

"The leader doesn't happen to be Nikolas Reed does it ?" I asked him and he looked at me in suprise.

"We know the name is Nikolas but we didn't have his surname. How did you know ?" He asked me. "Are you familiar with him ?"

Ohh I'm more than familiar with him. Nikolas Reed, our former gang member and my ex boyfriend. He was the best in our gang when it came to heists. He was like our little treasure until he decided we weren't good enough for him. Until he decided that he was too good to work under someone. Until he decided to leave and start his own gang.

I wasn't crazily over hills in love with him that our breakup hurt me. Instead it was the opposite, I just took our breakup as it is and moved on without a care in the world.

I can't blame Nikolas for leaving our gang and starting his own. He was good and there's nothing wrong with wanting to be powerful. Absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to do your own thing. I mean I would've done the same thing. I never held a grudge against him or anything like that. I don't even think I've thought about him in a year.

His gang was doing better than we thought it would. But it was still small compared to ours. Nikolas left us to play with the big boys. He left us to be one of the big boys.

This is not personal, I just wanna show him how to play with the big boys. "I'm coming with you to the station." I said as I looked at Kenny.

"What-why ?" He asked me.

"To question the suspect what else ?" I said in a "duh' tone.

"Blue we kept this person in the cells for over two weeks now. What makes you think he'll suddenly decide to talk ?"

"Do you trust me ?" I asked him seriously.

"More than anyone in this world." He replied and I instantly felt a pang of guilt. He shouldn't trust me, especially not this much.

"Then go take out the car, I just have to make a call." I said and he smiled as he shaked his head in disbelief. "Do I have to wear my uniform when I interrogate someone ?"

He chuckled as he kissed my lips. "Do whatever you want. You're the boss here."
