"So why didn't you?"hiccup questioned holding the severd bola in his hands,he had dragged you back to the place where the dragon fiasco happened,you walked ahead of him as you made it to the cove you where you had previously seen both dragons,you both walked through the narrow entrance of the ravine ducking under a root,looking into the opening,seeing a small group of birds fly by.
It was rather peaceful but there wasnt any thing you were looking for,you kicked a pebble that off the cliff hearing it hit the bottom,"well this was stupid""mhm"you hummed kicking your feet back and forth,hiccup then knelt down picking something up,you put a hand on his shoulder leaning on it to see what it was.
It was a matte black oval,a dragon scale,had the night fury fled?what about the white one?. Just then a roar was heard and a black figure jumped above you and hiccup,you both gasped and tripped backwards,hiccup got up peering over.the dragon was trying to climb the side of the ravine!.
However it didnt succeed and instead feel down the ledge of the cliff you were both on,clawing desperately to get up,before it fell back,gliding along the water before falling onto the ground,did it not have a sense of balance or something?,it groaned and got back up.
You then realized that the white one didnt follow,you scanned around the cove until you found it,the white one was not far away from the night fury ,though you would think you would see a pure white dragon easily,but when you had first came in it was nowhere,where your eyes playing tricks on you or was there more to it that meets the eye.
Hiccup then moved to climb down to a lower part of ledge and you followed closely,albeit it was a horrible idea seeing as you could slip. Once getting to the lower platform you witnessed the night fury jump from a rock and fly,however when it had to turn,it failed and skid to the ground with an exhausted groan,it went to try this action again and you turned your gaze to the white one,who was now aware of your presence but it wasnt attacking,instead it watched you with slit eyes,waiting for you to make a wrong move.
You wondered why it didnt help the night fury,you moved abit closer to the edge squinting your eyes at it,you then noticed that it was holding one of its wings more closely to it than the other,then you noticed the red stain on the edge of its wing. It must have damaged its wing during the fall,you wouldn't be surprised at this either considering the damage it had done to the forest,looking abit closer you noticed a patch of the wing was thinner than the rest.
The night fury then came crashing down near it,the white one shot up and hissed at the black one holding its wings high,once it did this you saw it very clearly now,the dragon had almost completely cut through its wing,it was lucky it hadnt otherwise it be almost impossible to fly again,a fish caught the two dragons interest as the night fury attempted to get one but failed earning a disappointed groan from the white one.
You then turned to hiccup after hearing a clanking sound,he had dropped his pencil and it had now rolled off the ledge,the sound caught both their attentions as they started at you and hiccup intensely.
Later that night it had started pour when you and hiccup came back,you went to the grate hall where the rest of the recruits where,once the door shut you both walked up to the table grabbing your portions,"where did hiccup go wrong?"gobber asked,you rolled your eyes,"what will asking them do in all seriousness?", "Uh,he showed up" "He didnt get eaten" "Hes never where he should be"astrid said rather coldly as you and hiccup sat down on one of the other tables. "Thank you Astrid,you need to live and breathe this stuff.the dragon manual,everything we know about every dragon we know of" After gobber finished that sentence thunder rumbled and gobber grumbled clearly disliking thunderstorms.
"No attacks tonight.study up"and with that he left leaving the teenagers to their devices, "Wait,you mean read?" "While we're still alive?" "Why read words when you can just kill the stuff the words tell you stuff about?" "Oh I read it like seven times,theres this water dragon that sprays boiling water at your face,and then theres this other one..that burries itself for like a we-"halway through fishlegs monologue snotlout looked at him with a light skin stare.
The tuffnut clicked his fingers infront of his face"yea that sounds grate,there was a chance that I was I'd read that-""but now.." Ruffnut said as she put on a face "You guys read,I'll go kill stuff" After snotlout said this is set off a chain reaction as everyone left talking about different things until it was you hiccup and Astrid.
"So I guess well share-"before hiccup could fully finish she interrupted him "Read it"she pushed her self off the table pushing the book towards hiccup, "Uh,all mi-"he turned round to see you standing with your hands on your hips glaring at him"ours then.wow,so,o-ok,well see you-"the door slammed shut before he could finnish"tommorow".
He then turns to you as you bring your food portion over as you both get settled down. By the time you were both ready the hall wall now empty,everyone had left and the only light sorce you had were candles,hiccup opened the book and you both began to read. Boneknapper.whispering death"you cringe as he flips the pages,the drawings were far from savory,they looked like something out of nightmares,they cant seriously be real dragons right?.
