Hiccup was currently looking at his book as you both wandered the foggy forest looking for the infamous creature he had shot down,you had been looking for quite some time and had even started to wonder if it had escaped,maybe he didnt shoot it down and it was your imagination.
You let hiccup lead as you weren't exactly the best at navigation,you heard him scribble on his book before frustratedly closing it and sighing,"oh the gods hate me.""us"you corrected receiving a grumble from him as he continued,"some people loose their knife or their mug.no not us.we managed to loose an entire dragon""i know,its even day how could we possibly-""ow"you looked at hiccup seeing him rubbing his head and a slanted tree branch wobbling.
You walked over seeing the damage to the tree and saw more broken trees accompanied by a large skid mark,you both looked at eachother before making your way down.
You both put your hands on the ground and looked over the hill,both of you gasped ducking back down seeing a large blage figure down the hill,after a moment hiccup peaked first before his eyes widened more,there was 2,one of them was of course a night fury but the other one was white and looked slightly different,both were unmoving,were they dead maybe?,hiccup quickly pulled out a knife and you went to grab yours too,only to realize you left it at the workshop to be sharpened,you groaned and cursed under your breath.
Of course the ideal time you need a weapon you dont have one,"I'll go first"hiccup said noticing your missing weapon,though his voice was uneven,clearly nervous. He stumbled behind the large rock and you followed suit only more carefully and quiet,hiccup peaked out heaving out a breath before he stood. You stood aswell taking in the sight before you,there were two dragons in the bola back to back with the bola being stretched and strained.
"Oh,wow,I-I did it!",he walked closer moving his arms out as if he were going to cradle it,you walked around the bound beasts as you went to examine the white one specifically,a white night fury had never been mention before,its scales were white with a (light/dark) (colour) tint on its chest,this white dragon was slimmer and its scales shimmered and reflected the light of the sun that barely peaked through the trees,instead of having spikes down its spine it had a long thin ridge with triangular tail flukes,long thin ridges on its legs to which the black nightfury lacked."ohh,I did it.this-this fixes everything!yes!"he through his head up in triumph,"hes completely lost it"is all you could think as you watched from the opposite side,"I have brought down this might beast!"yep definatly high on adrenaline,he put a foot on the dragon very obnoxiously before it was then shoved off as the nightfury groaned.
Hiccup yellped and backed up,his back hitting the rock you were previously hiding behind,he then carefully moved forward with the knife outstretched, though he was shaking like a leaf,the night fury had started to breath heavily and opened its eyes staring at hiccup,it was unknown if the dragon knew of your presence.
You had made your way back around and were closer to hiccup now, ready to intervene if anything were to go down,hiccup looked away from its eyes as If feeling pity for them,it was then that the other dragon growled,it shuffled in its restraints and made noises of discomfort as the dark night fury did the same,you couldnt help but cringe and feel slight sorrow for them,the bola had stretched and if they moved to much it would probally cause rope burn.
The dragon then stopped moving huffing out a sigh before stilling and going dead silent.
Hiccup looked at you and then back into the eyes of the dragon infront of him as he exhaled,breathing in just as sharply,"I'm gonna kill you dragon,I'm gonna cut out your heart and take it to my father,I'm a viking,I'm a viking!"he furrowed his brows as you watched intently from the sidelines,he lift his hand up knife in hand.
You put your hand over your mouth and looked away slightly,you were always so determined that the day you or hiccup were to kill a dragon,you would celebrate,however now that it's happening an unknow emotion that you never knew you had,was awakened,dragons don't deserve pity,is what stoic said but the sound of the dragons cries as they were helplessly strung together struck something inside you.you looked back seeing the night fury groan deafetdly before closing its eyes and laying its head down,similar to what the white one had done previously,as if waiting for death,you bit your lip,you had never seen dragons so expressive...
Hiccup groaned and put his hands to his head in defeat,running his hands down his face before looking at the knife in hand,he looked over the dragons,"I did this"his voice was shaky as he took steps back,you went up to him and put a comforting hand on his shoulder,you both shared a conflicted look.
The way the dragon had stared at you reminded you of when you were younger,you had been scared of a terrible terror and had big eyes full of fright just like the dragon had,only in this instance the dragons fear was more excusable.
Hiccup walked back up to the dragon and had started to cut the rope once again pulling you out of your thoughts,"hiccup"you called out cautiously,yes you felt bad but if you freed them they'd kill you!,"hiccup"you called more sternly this time,you moved to go over to him but it was to late.
You were both pinned down by one of the dragons,the white one had gotten up and pushed you down so quickly you couldnt see it coming,you wern't even completely sure that it was conscious until now as its (e/c) eyes glared at you,hiccup had been pushed against the rock and was in a similar situation,the dragon above you opened its mouth and breathed in readying a plasma blast,the back of its throat glowing dangerously.
You squirmed and tried pushing your way out of the grip but to no avail,though its eyes wern't on you now,rather they were now on the dragon that had trapped hiccup,it was as if it was observing what its counterpart would do,you peered over aswell hearing an earspliting roar and the bustling of tree branches.
The dragon above you closed its mouth,glaring down at you before doing the same as its black counterpart,roaring ferociously at you before following after it,hiccup immidatly helped you sit up as you both watched the dragons flail in the air and screech into the open,hiccup helped you stand,you held your head as the world started to go dizzy you groaned before falling on the ground just barley witnessing hiccup do the same...
