"Man! I lost without me knowing it!" Denki Kaminari exclaimed in indignation as he slumped his shoulders as he sat down on his chair. He had fought against Hitoshi Shinso and thought that it would be an easy win for him.
"How did I even lost!?" he asked himself as Kirishima pats his shoulder, trying to comfort the Electrification user.
Izuku looked at Shinso who just looked away, feeling bad for the blonde boy. Both of them couldn't help but snicker at how easy it had been to make Kaminari respond to the sleep deprived teen.
FLASHBACK
As Midnight starts the match, Kaminari began covering his body with electricity. As he was about to release the attack the sleep deprived boy, said boy said something.
"Idiotsayswhat." he quickly said. Making the boy look at him in confusion.
"Wha--" and everything went blank.
Shinso smirked, "Walk off the ring." Saying that, making Denki turn around and walking off the platform.
As he exits the ring, Midnight's voice echoed in the arena, knocking the Brainwashed boy out of his daze. "Kaminari is out of bounds. Shinso wins!"
The crowd was confused of what happened but cheered eventually. Kaminari was in a mix of shock and confusion.
FLASHBACK ENDS
"Yaoyorozu is out of bounds, Tokoyami advances to the next round!" Midnight 's voice echoed in the arena making Izuku snap out of his trance and turn to look at the arena. Momo just stood there looking shocked and disappointment.
She faced off against Fumikage Tokoyami and lost to the avian boy. He had used Dark Shadow to force Momo to go out of bounds, before she could even counter his attacks.
Without a word, she looked down and slowly walked towards the exit of the arena.
Izuku couldn't help but look at the ravenette's back. There were a number of feelings that was very familiar with him. Defeat, sadness, frustration, and hopelessness just for starters. All of this which he became well acquainted with at the young age of four. Growing up quirkless in this world made that inevitable and inescapable.
Though after meeting Alex Mercer, those feelings were nothing but fragments of his past self. After inheriting the Blacklight Virus now turned Quirk, the feeling of defeat and disappointment was washed up by the fact that he had grew in just a short period of time.
He looked back at the exit of the arena and saw that the next contestants are up next. The Steelix ripoff, Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu from Class 1B and the Typlosion/Primape reject, Katsuki Bakugo. Jokingly thinking that Bakugo will win, because he had a type advantage.
Izuku then looked around the seats and saw that Tokoyami had returned, but no sign of Momo. And for some reason, it worried him.
The green-haired boy knew well that they rarely talk and only talked when it comes to academics and hero studies. But his heroic nature couldn't bare to see the look on her face... he couldn't just sit there and do nothing.
He stood up, making Ochako and Iida who was sitting next to him look at him in confusion.
"You okay, Izuku?" The gravity girl asked as she looked at Izuku as he walks away, but took a look back to her direction.
"My match is after this, I need to prepare." Izuku lied as he smile sheepishly before continuing, "I'll watch it in the Prep room." Izuku already knew who the winner of the match is. So it didn't really matter if he watches or not.
