A Home like Place

The words they echo,

The acts they pretend,

The promises they keep,

The warmth swarms around,

The smiles plasters on,

The pain carries on,

The silence slithers,

The bonds break,

The care stays,

Four walls peek in,

Five adults give in,

Sanctity creeps in,

The lies pile on,

The stories triumphant on,

The feeling of home yields on,

Nights turn dead,

Pretentious care carries on,

Relentless need for slumber caves in,

The need to be one pitches the boredom of the night,

The need to speak up dies on the tight lipped smile,

The need to be alone resonates with no change,

Hugs from the arms of the one creeps on,

Silent tears gauge upon the open sky,

Tales of a better tomorrow swells on,

The place of haven bounds with no solitude and kindness,

The place of security and assurance turns vile,

The place of peace and harmony grows tiresome,

Insecurities and displeasure plaster on,

You could have done better echoes on,

Silence clothes the dreadful days,

Escaping everything resonates a thousand times,

Pack the bags and say goodbye crosses the wounded mind,

Anxiety shrieks and hugs from the motherly arms shelters on,

The hold to stay put chains down,

The fresh wounds rework,

The clock stops,

The numb heart and mind work together,

The lies go on and on and on,

The silence leers through,

The morning peeks on with open arms,

The tinge of the looming hour caresses,

The hope of things will get better triumphs,

Maybe for a while

Maybe for a bit

Maybe for a hopeless amount of time!

Maybe Home isn't just a place anymore but an expression of every unyielding dread waiting to be corrected, waiting to be understood, waiting to be contemplated, waiting to get better, waiting to feel like home again with warmth, care, acceptance, love and happiness!
