3-Possibility of Fated Mates

Start from the beginning

Jin watched his mate leave with a fond smile. The way Jimin and Jin had interacted felt foreign and made you uncomfortable for some reason, maybe because you longed to be able to have a relationship like that, but knew you were destined for a much harsher fate. To clear your dark thoughts, you cleared your throat, grabbing Jin's attention. "You have questions for me?"

"Eat first little one, and then we'll talk!"

You felt too nervous to eat, but he was watching you so you took a bite to satisfy him. The explosion of flavor on your tongue had you choking back a moan. You looked up at Jin in surprise and he gave you a satisfied smirk. You dug in, devouring everything on your plate greedily. You had never tasted anything so good, not that you could remember anyways.

"Do you want more?" He asked with an indulgent smile and you nodded guiltily. Seconds were never something you were permitted in your old pack. Jin piled on another plate full and handed it to you. You ate this plate a lot slower, taking time to observe your surroundings.

It was evident that several people shared the space. There were discarded jackets slung across the backs of chairs and random personal items filling in the spaces, making everything feel homey and safe.

The table was made from dark wood and added to the rustic feel of the kitchen. The wood was cut thick and rough, but when you touched the surface it was smooth and polished. The countertops were similarly cut and had a rack of pans hanging from the ceiling right above them. When you turned to look behind you, you saw a large fridge and a dark gas stove.

The floor was also made of dark wood, transforming into a plush tan carpet when the open space transitioned from kitchen to an open living space. There were several long couches, large bean bags and a large tv mounted to the wall. A staircase led to a loft area. You couldn't quite see up there, but you imagined that was where the pack's nest would be.

Jin was placing dishes into the dishwasher when you finished. You lightly put the bowl on the table and took a moment to assess your injuries. They were practically gone. You could feel the tug across your chest and abdomen as your wolf stitched your body back together. It tingled and there was an uncomfortable pressure, but it didn't hurt.  You honestly didn't want Jimin or his pack to know how healed you were, they would have questions.

"All done, little one?" Jin came over to you and picked up your bowl when you nodded. He added it to the dishwasher before finally coming to sit next to you at the table. You squirmed uncomfortably, worried about what he will ask.

"Y/N, those wolves that were chasing you last night, who were they?" His voice was gentle and light. You were trying not to trust him, but he's making it hard for you when he looks at you like that. You looked down at your lap instead, focusing on your fingers.

"They were the alphas of my old pack, I ran away and they were coming to find me." You started pinching the tips of your fingers nervously.

"Were you mated to them?" You shook your head.

"They didn't want to mate with me, but we were linked. I broke the links when I left."

"And how did you find Jimin? Through the mating pull?" You looked up at Jin in confusion.

"I didn't feel a mating pull with Jimin." Jin's brows knit together.

"You didn't feel the mating pull? Then why... why did you mate with him?" He doesn't sound mad, but he could be hiding it well.

"I didn't know at the time that he was already mated, I'm sorry! I was scared and I was desperate to cover my scent. I didn't mark him so it's not permanent!" You hastily reply, feeling your heartbeat faster. You remember the way the two alphas were staring at you this morning. Maybe they weren't looking at you that way because of your heat, maybe they were angry that their mate had marked you.

"It's not that Y/N, you –you really don't feel the mating pull for him?" You shook your head and Jin sat back in his seat, "Have you felt it for anyone you've met in this house?" You shook your head again. Jin was quiet for a moment, lost in thought.

"Y/N," He began again slowly, "The seven of us are fated mates." You felt nauseous. You unknowingly committed one of the worst taboos, you participated in a mating ritual with someone already a part of a fated pack.

"I'm so sorry," You bowed your head, hoping to placate the Luna. He had every right to rip you apart right now, but he would probably call in his alphas. His three strong alphas would end you. Your desperate fight for freedom was going to end in this kitchen. You couldn't stop the tears that fall down your cheeks.

"Y/N, honey," He reached for your hands and you flinched away, "Y/N, look at me." You slowly raised your head, ready to meet your fate. But he didn't look angry, he looked... concerned. "Y/N, I'm not sure what is going on, but we feel the mating pull for you, all of us do."

What did he say? He felt the mating pull for you? All seven of them ddi? Jimin did too? How come you didn't feel it? Were they messing with you? You would have felt it if it were true. You slowly started shaking your head.

"You're not my mates, I would have felt it! I don't believe you and I just want to leave, please!" Your instinct to run and hide was making you itchy with need. A pained expression crossed his face before he plastered on a calm smile.

"You're safe here Y/N, I promise!" He swallowed thickly. "Did your other pack give you medicine or tea everyday?"

You debated whether or not to answer, you didn't want to trust him, everything in you was telling you not to trust him, but what he was asking reminded you of something.

"They did give me tea every morning. They told me it was to prevent pregnancy and help with my heats... I was only used for ruts, they didn't want me to breed." Jin's jaw clenched briefly before he swallowed again.

"What did it taste like?" You took a minute to think about it. It was something that you tried to describe to yourself all the time. The most common thing that came to your mind was dirt, it tasted like rich soil.

"It was earthy, like dirt. The after taste was kind of metallic. I'm not sure how else to describe it."

"I would like to talk to our healer about that, is that ok?" When you slowly nodded, Jin smiled. This smile made his cheeks look full like a squirrel. He had such a natural beauty with soft features and a caring personality that seemed to come so naturally to him. You weren't used to kindness, not even from the other omegas in your pack. They weren't unkind, but the alphas didn't want them interacting with you so they left you alone. Your heart felt warm with longing, but you quickly shut that down.

"Also, I have some suppressants that will help with your heat. Would you be willing to take them?" You nodded again.

"I know my alphas made you nervous before, but if you give them a chance, I promise once your heat is finished, you'll see they are a bunch of teddy bears." At the mention of his alphas the fondness for Jin immediately evaporated and you felt on edge again. Jin seemed to sense the change in you.

"Why don't you go rest some more? After injuries like the ones you received last night, you'll need all the rest you can get! Only me and Jimin will come into the room. I'll bring you the suppressants in just a little bit."

He got up from the table and patiently waited for you. He led you to the bedroom and once you were inside, he closed the door behind you. As you heard his footsteps retreating, you quickly locked the door. It wouldn't keep them out for long if they were determined, but it made you feel better.

You don't plan on sticking around to see if these alphas become teddy bears, you don't trust them, you can't trust them. When you first met and mated with Jimin, you were only seeking to cover up your scent with his and hide yourself better but it hadn't worked. Your old pack found you and tore your chest open.

On your chest was Jimin's mark, two crescent moons facing each other and shimmering silver. Your fingers traced the shapes. If you didn't mark him soon, his mark would entirely fade as if it had never happened. You liked Jimin and the thought of staying with him and Jin didn't seem that bad, but you were not going to be omega to three alphas, not again. You ran away to gain freedom and you were not giving that up for Jimin or Jin or some possibility of fated mates, no matter how alluring that sounded. Now you just need to wait for the right moment to make your escape.
