Crossing the Lines

Chapter 4: Official

Days were passing too quickly and I find it hard to catch up. Ever since Zav told me that he'll court me, lagi na niya akong sinusundo. I don't think 'ligaw' pa ang ginagawa niya kasi he is acting like a really good boyfriend who spoils his girlfriend. It's been a month since he started and I'm planning to say yes to him if he ask me.

I stopped myself from typing when I felt Zav's presence as he kiss the top of my head. Napatingala ako sakanya. I am making some drafts about the upcoming event sa school and he just distracted me.

"Let's eat first?" he said as he held my hand, slightly pulling me to him kaya tumayo ako.

"Sige. What time na ba?"

"2pm." I let out a sigh as I hug him. He just came out from the meeting probably. Since andito na din naman siya, he does the most work and I just do things na di niya masingit sa time niya. Sanay na din naman akong ginagawa to eh.

I felt him caress my back as he hug me. We stayed like that for a few minutes before heading out to eat.

He ordered while I stay by our table. That's when I felt tired. Thinking about it, pa graduate na ako. I managed to be an active student while trying to get that cum laude badge and hopefully, I can get what I deserve din. While sitting, I checked my phone for emails and stuff nang biglang nahagip ng mata ko ang facebook story ni Angeline. It's a stolen picture of Zav in the conference room.

"Hey..." napatingin ako kay Zav. He was staring at me while he put our food down.

"yep. I just saw something." he sat down in front of me while I get my food. I bit my lips in anticipation.

"What is it?" napatingin ako sakanya nang hawakan niya ang aking kamay. He looks so bothered at the same time, concerned.

I smiled at him, gently caressing his hand. "It's nothing. Just a random video."

He did not looked convinced but he just nodded. We started to eat silently. Whenever we are togther, I would silently glance at him, observing him. Hindi niya naman kasalanan na may babaeng nagpopost sa kanya diba? And they are friends...tsaka sino ba ako para bakuran siya eh nililigawan pa naman niya ako.

Nililigawan pa lang.

After eating, dumiretso ako sa office while Zav ran to the Dean's office. He said kakausapin daw siya ni Dad. I asked him if he wants me to come but he said no. Umupo ako agad saka kinuha ang aking phone. Namalayan ko nalang na I was stalking Angeline's account. Wala namang special sa acc niya. I was scrolling absentmindedly when something caught my eye. It was a throwback facebook story of the same bottle of perfume that I have, except for her name was on it.

I scrolled away from her page. I felt something inside me began to shake. It could be that Angeline's dad and Dad got us the same perfume.I let out a sigh. Why am I overthinking this?

I resume what I let off earlier. I was preoccupied the whole time that I didn't notice na gabi na pala. Nagsimula akong magligpit ng gamit ko when my phone lit up.

Zav: Can't go with you, I was told to do check the charity venue for nextweek. Take care. I asked kuya Banjo to fetch u.

I quickly typed a reply saying na pauwi na din naman ako kaya wag na. I began to walk down the empty halls when I heard a cry. It was from a girl.

"Tulong!"

Napatigil ako sa paglalakad but after what some seconds, I found myself heading towards the noise. Bigla akong napahinto when it was coming from the chem lab. I quickly opened the door and was greeted by a huge fire. I was about to leave since the smoke is starting to suffocate me when I heard the cry again.

I stepped inside when the cabinet fell behind me, closing the door. I silently cussed. I tried to look for the voice when I saw Angeline laying down.

"Angeline!" I rushed to her. What is she doing here?

"My leg is stuck!" she cried. I tried lifting the metal cabinet for her to get her feet which she successfully did. Hinihingal akong naupo agad, since the smoke is right above us.

I quickly dialed Zav's number. I was about to speak when I felt a pain behind my neck before everything turned to black.

I woke up with a bright light in my eyes. I felt a hand on my forehead. Caressing my head. It was Zav.

"Hey... are you feeling alright? I'm gonna call-" I quickly held his hand, stopping him from calling the doctor. He looked at me and what it seems like he understood, he held my hand back.

"I'm sorry..." he said as he kissed my hand. "I should've wait for you."

Umiling ako. "It was an accident." bigla kong natandaan si Angeline. "Is Angeline okay?"

He looked at me. Napapikit ako ng halikan niya ang aking noo. "She's with your dad. She's fine."

I just nodded as a response. She's probably traumatized. I was thankful that Dad is with her since she has no one.

Fortunately, wala namang serious na injury ang nangyari sa amin and na apula na din yung sunog sa chem lab. Good thing it is surrounded with fire wall. Since the doctors told me that I can just go home, I quickly changed while Mom is talking to the doctor.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Zav asked when he entered the room.

I smiled as I walked towards him. Nang makalapit ako ay hinawakan ko ang kanyang kamay.

"Yep, tsaka dadami pa ang gagawin ko pag nag skip bukas." I said, trying to assure him but he just stared at me with his eye brows creased. He really looked 10 times handsome whenever he's upset.

"Stop worrying about those, rest first. Huwag ka nang pumasok bukas."

I can't help but to smile wider which made him more upset. I lightly pinch his cheeks with both of my hands. Goshh ang pogi.

"Eve." it sounded like a warning but I ignored it.

"Eve, it hurts. Let - "

I didn't let him finish. I quickly pulled his head towards me as I felt his lips on mine. He stiffened. Bumitaw ako sa halik.

"Let's make this official. Be mine." I said smiling. My smile began to fade when he just stared at me. This is ... kinda embarrassing.

"A-ayaw mo ba? Okay lang nam - " I felt his lips crashed into mind. His hand on my cheek. I don't know how long but we just stopped when we felt breathless.

"Stop stealing my lines georgina." I smiled as I press my lips against his for the 3rd time.
