She chuckled. "What's the difference though?"

"The difference is that I'm going to be paying the best in Mayville to look after you. You will get taken care of more than you would at an orphanage, you will get the best education and everything you need."

"Okay. Thank you Python, no one has ever done as much as you have for me in the past hour."

"The name is Blue." I said as I got closer to the door to leave. "Now wait two minutes after I'm gone to call the police. Be this traumatized child that found her parents dead on the couch." I smiled at her.

She reciprocated the action. "Traumatized and sad, got it I'll even throw in some fake tears don't worry." She said and we laughed.

"Your aunt, Deborah, will come get you out of police custody in two days."

She looked confused. "I don't have an aunt called-ohh got it. My aunt Deborah." She said as she chuckled.

"You sure you gonna be okay?" I said seriously.

"I'm going to be fine Blue." She gave me a reassuring smile. "Now go so the police can get these bodies out of here, they are actually becoming traumatizing to look at." She looked back at her parents in the sitting room.

"Well bye, aunt Dorah will see you in two days." I said as we laughed and I got out of the door. I made sure no one saw me as I got out. I was sure this neighborhood had no cameras so I went straight to my car. There were two kids that were too busy arguing to notice me. Other than them, the streets were empty.

I got inside my car and drove out of the neighbourhood. The same feeling of contentment I got after eliminating a motherfucker who thought was strong by bringing pain to someone who was unable to fight for themselves, sinking in.

I'm giving up.

I've tried calling Kenny since yesterday after my mission but he hasn't answered. His phone was switched off, but today it just rang with no answer. I was worried sick last night thinking something might've happened to him.

I even went to his apartment and he was not there. This morning it was switched on and I kept calling thinking he might answer but nothing. I'm finally giving up, he will call me when he actually wants to talk to me.

I'm currently sitting at McDonald's waiting for Maddie. I needed a distraction and sitting alone in my apartment wasn't keeping me from calling Kenny for the hundredth time.

"Yikes, you look terrible." My best friend said as she sat on the chair opposite to me.

"Geee, thanks." I said sarcastically as I rolled my eyes.

Maddie looked beautiful as always. A white dress and white flip flops. She really loves flips. Whereas I was wearing my black leggings an oversized t-shirt and bunny slippers. My hair was pulled up in a messy bun. I didn't even comb it.

"What's up ? You look miserable."

"Another compliment ? You're really being nice today."

"Okay I'm sorry." She said. "I just thought you'd be in a better mood. I saw P on the news last night."

"Husband and wife dead. Murder shocks township : python strikes again. You saw the news ?" She asked.

"No" I answered.

"Okay.. tell me what's wrong Lu."

"I don't know, Kenny ?" I said. It sounded more of a question than a statement. "He hasn't been taking my calls since yesterday, I mean he hasn't missed a single call ever since I met him. It's so unlike him and I'm getting worried."

"You care about him ?" Maddie asked.

"Yeah." I answered honestly. What was the point of lying to Maddie when she could read me like a book ? She asked but she already knew the answer. "I know I'm not supposed to but I do."

"Lu, you do know falling in love with him could be dangerous right ?"

"Who said anything about love ? I'm just worried about his safety. That's what normal people do." I defensively said.

"Normal people, not you." Maddie said. "You don't randomly care about people you barely know."

I was about to answer when I was interrupted by a waiter. Not just any waiter. Adam the waiter. "Hi, Blue isn't it ?" He asked smiling.

"Yeah, how have you been Adam ?"

"I've been great." He answered and turned his head. "Maddie." He said as he smiled widely.

"Hi Adam." She answered while blushing.

Am I missing something ?

"Can I get your order ?"

"Uhmm I'll have a Big Mac with large fries and a coke please." I answered looking between the two people infront of me

"I'll have a Mcfeast burger, large fries and strawberry milkshake." Maggie answered looking at Adam.

We finished ordering and Adam went to get our order.

"Spill." I said as I looked at her.

"There's nothing to spill." She said blushing.

"Want me to take it out of you ?" I asked trying to be intimidating.

"Okay, we've been talking and we went out on a date on Tuesday."

"And you didn't tell me ?!!" I shouted.

People turned their heads to look at us and I awkwardly waved my hand as I smiled. Maddie had her head down as she scratched her neck. I know she hated unnecessary attention. People soon went back to what they were doing and I looked at Maddie as she held her head up.

"See, that's why I didn't tell tell you. I knew you'd make a big deal out of it." She said.

"Make a big dea- it is a big deal Madds. My best friend went to her first ever date at twenty two. And you're telling me to not make a big deal out of it ?!"

People looked at me again. They probably thought we were having a real fight.
"ALRIGHT MIND YOUR BUSINESS PEOPLE !!" I shouted and they immediately turned their heads back.

"Okay, I'm calm now." I said excitedly. "Tell me all the deeds."

"I swear you're bipolar." Madison said as she shook her head.

Maddie and I ate and spent time together. She helped me get my mind off things. She told me all about her date with Adam. Apparently he took her to the movies and ate dinner at a fancy restaurant.

Maddie did a search on Adam. I mean she's a hacker for the largest gangs, precautions have to be taken. She found out that Adam's parents are filthy rich and he works here because he wants something to do, away from the luxury he grew up in.
I feel you Adam. Why do you think I'm obsessed with McD ?
A life where everyone expects too much of you is overwhelming. This place has always been an escape from my life.

Maddie said Adam mentioned nothing about being rich or something like that. That's what makes Maddie like him more, he is very humbled for a cheese boy like him. But I also think Adam want's Maddie to like her for who he is and not his money. And Maddie did. The fact that she liked him when he was a waiter proves that. She's happy and I love that for her.

Me and Maddie were eating our Mcflurry ice cream when I heard my phone vibrate in my front pocket. I took it out and looked at the caller ID, Kenny .
