The spider was under his tongue.

I'm not sure he knew this.

Would it be more concerning if he did?

Did the spider know where it was?

I felt an itch in my mouth. I shuddered.

It started as an alarming realization, and slightly amusing if I'm honest. But as soon as I wanted to bring it up, I noticed a shift in his eyes.

And the spiders, too.

I felt an itch in my mouth.

They were both looking at me, almost expectantly.

The hairs raised on my neck, all amusement and curiosity vanished.

It felt like they wanted me to say something.

But I was afraid that if I moved my tongue and spoke, I'd soon find a spider under there, too.

My eye twitched at the thought. I felt an itch in my mouth.

I kept my lips sealed.

Forcing a smile, I shook my head, and took a step back.

I made the decision to turn and walk away, to try and forget this encounter ever existed.

I felt an itch in my mouth.
