Alhaitham, who just got back from ordering your food, found you laying your head down on an opened book before you noticed his presence. You immediately got up when you heard his voice, stretching your arms out before letting out a yawn.
"Tired?" he asked as he watched you slump back down on the opened book. You both were currently in a cafe not too close yet not too far from home. You wanted to get a bit far from that place, and using your project as a reason for your small escape was the only idea you could think of.
"Take a guess," He chuckled at your behaviour as he watched you mumble curses before sighing and going back to the presentation you were working on.
After a few minutes of sitting in silence, not bothering to speak since you were drained for the day and Alhaitham noticed your behaviour, so he didn't bother bickering with you and just sat quietly.
After 10 minutes or so of just the sound of the keyboard typing, your table number was called, so Alhaitham got up and went to the counter. He came back with a tray of desserts and coffee. He set your food on a side of the table and carefully put the drinks down away from the papers.
You happily took a bite of your favourite dessert as Alhaitham went to place the tray back on the counter and returned to your table afterwards. You watched as he took a sip of his coffee before returning his focus to his laptop.
You also took a sip of your coffee, in hopes, it was strong enough to wake you up, and it wasn't that strong to keep you awake till midnight, though it will do for now. The coffee was perfect to your liking. It wasn't too sweet nor too bitter.
"Do you like it?" Alhaitham questioned, removing his gaze from the laptop in front of him and shifting it onto you who was sipping coffee. He noticed you weren't wearing any glasses right now, your hair down and your bangs a bit messed up, he noticed the visible facial expression that was screaming you were tired.
"Yeah, it suits my liking. We should go here often." he chuckled at your response, reaching his hand out enough to touch your face before fixing your bangs. Flustered at the sudden touch, you immediately smacked his hand away.
"What the fuck?" you hissed at the sudden touch making a smirk appear on his face. Wanting to wipe it off his face in the cruellest way possible as much as he loves seeing your flustered expression.
"Oh, how I would love to wipe that shit-eating grin off your face as much as you love annoying the heck out of me," you exclaimed, receiving nothing but an annoying smirk in return.
"I would love to see you try too," His words made you reach out for his hair, getting a hold of it quickly, making him yelp. A first full of his hair was now in your hands as you watch him suffer to get rid of your grasp.
"Y/n- stop-" you only grip on it tighter before letting go, in case you've attracted attention to the both of you which was something you didn't want to do.
"I'm sorry, Mr Smarty pants," you laughed as he scoffed and rolled his eyes at you making you laugh even more. He let out a "whatever." before continuing what he was working on as you continued eating.

After you both finished, the sun was setting. You were inside his car while staring at the sun, setting. Your Spotify playlist playing in the background as you continued to stare at the sky as the car moved.
"Sleep early today, your body needs to relax after today." You turned to him when he spoke, his eyes not leaving the road. You simply hummed in return before shifting your attention to the sky again.
"You should take a picture, it will last longer." He jokes making you chuckle in return before reaching out for your phone that was in your pocket and snapping pictures of the sky, taking a picture of Alhaitham too who was driving in which didn't go unnoticed by him.
He gave you a questioning look which you just smiled in return before taking more pics of the scenery around you.
"Hey, bro," he turned to you as the car stops at a red light, raising his brow at you.
"You're calling me bro now?" You giggled at his reply before letting your pride down.
"You probably will think I'm not in the right state of mind after this but, I really like enjoying your company. Well sometimes, not that much since you're also hard-headed like me." You laughed at your own words as he looked at you in disbelief.
"Seriously?" You laughed again before nodding. His reaction seemed priceless. He knew how much of a highly prided person you were, and you would do anything to keep your pride high.
"Yes, no jokes. You're calm probably even when we're at risk. Which I find nice. Not saying that I'll enjoy it if we're in danger but more like I enjoy your company more than others. Kaveh might kill you or me once he finds out about this but, you're not energetic or too dead. It's nice to be with someone not too energetic, sometimes."
"Is that so?" you hummed in return. You weren't one to admit something like this. But the thought of keeping an opinion like that scared you since it might do something to the relationship you had with him. Surely you guys were rivals when it came to academics, but you didn't want him to think you felt forced having to be stuck around with him.
"I didn't wanna admit it at first, though I don't want to keep a never-ending battle between us two." He chuckles at your comment before shaking his head.
"Oh? Is the infamous Y/n, can no longer keep up with me?" He jokes, earning a smack from you. Who seems offended by his joke.
"So truce?" He asked, making you think about it for a while before replying with
"50/50" You both laughed at your decision before he ruffled your hair, and patted it, earning a whine from you before fixing your hair back to its original state.
"Alright, alright, I'm sorry." You both laughed again, That was probably one of the rarest times where you guys genuinely got along. He was only a few months older than you so he was technically your first friend besides Kaveh.
The drive ended with you both genuinely enjoying each other's presence. Even if you both started arguing in a funny way after which ended with laughs.
