Seahorses kinda look like dragons, right? The exact same logic works on my oc. As far as I know, some Eastern cultures tie the creatures together and hence it makes a reference on how Princess Otohime is the daughter of the Dragon King (as in the original folklore). This is possibly the biggest reference.
Treasure also wears a necklace with mild purple shading. The colour of murasaki is the colour of a warrior and represents nobility and strength. Royalty too. (anyone noticed that Yoichi's eyeshadow is of the same colour? ;))
Treasure is also largely pink, with her wear being pink too. It denotes feminity an' elegance, something which she has in her personality. Its also a popular colour in Japanese clothing. Treasure's 'hair-and-scale like structure' is similar to the sakura petal colour.
