The swing was a nice place to hang out and have fun. It was a big rope that hung from an oak tree out in the middle of a field.

We never knew who put the swing there in the first place or who owned the land. It was there since I moved here 8 years ago and it never changed, exept the bottom of it sometimes would have a piece of wood or plasitic tube attached, so you could hold on to it. Those would break off sometimes and other kids around the neighborhood would fix it.

The tree was real easy to climb and tall enough to get a rush from dropping down to swing back and forth. The rope had to be tied to the tree to reach it, but it mostly wasn't, so going with someone was better, so one could swing it back to the other one that was up in the tree.

We got to the tree with Letty and let her eat the grass while we hung out. When we got there the rope was dangling from the tree. Travis and I looked at eachother and rolled our eyes.

It wasn't tied to the tree for the hundreth time. There would be a couple times it would be, but mostly kids would come out alone and wouldn't be able to fetch it, to put it back up.

Travis grabbed a tree limb and waited for me to climb the tree to catch it as he swung it back and forth. I tied it up and waited for him to join me on the tree.

"You take for ever Travis." I said, looking down at him as he attempted to climb the tree.

"I'm not as fast as you monkey lady." He said, finally sitting down next to me.

We sat there for a while, watching Letty eat the grass and the view of the mountains in front of us.

"I think my mom and dad might get a divorce." He said out of the blue, all sadly.

"Don't get all sad about it Travis, it happens. It's not like your not going to see one of them again. Shit, wish my parents would divorce. I can't stand them together, I don't get how they fight one minute and then their fucking like rabbits the next." I chuckled and that made him laugh too.

I loved cheering him up when he was down. His smile was to die for, with his sweet little dimples that would magically appear on the sides of his cheeks.

We were the same height, but I knew he wasn't fully grown yet, cause he still had barley any hair on his body. I wondered sometimes what he would look like if he had a beard.

He had dark blond hair that was trimmed nicely around his ears that he spiked every morning. He was definitely cute with his blazing blue eyes too, that enhanced it. I really wished he could just get a cool girlfriend that wouldn't be so weirdo jealous of me. We were just best friends, nothing more than that.

"Ya I know, I just don't want to move away, that's all."

"The only place your moving to, is with me to the Oak Tree Apartments, remember?" I said, standing up and stepping on the rope to swing off.

We made plans last year to move into an apartment together after we turned 18. We both had jobs to support ourselves, but rent would be a little tight with just one person.

He agreed that we should share expences and go to the community college here in town after school.

It was a nice apartment complex we both came to love.  His friend Tristan live there with his family and we would go over to hang out, mostly in the summer, cause it had a huge pool and jacuzzi.

I worked at the local supermarket in town after school and he delivered pizza's on the weekends. We talked to both our bosses about more hours once school was over and they both agreed. Travis and I even got an application from the complex and sat down to go over everything we would pay for and some rules we would follow as well.

First rule was about having company over, male or female, we would have to inform each other about the company, before inviting anyone over.

Second rule was no partys, which we both really didn't attend to anyway, but peer pressure could get in the way with that at times.

Third rule was that if we were to lose our jobs and can't find one within two weeks we would have to move out immediately.

We couldn't wait to get out and live together. We already talked it over with our parents and they didn't really care much what we did once we turned 18.

I swung back to him and handed him the rope and he looked at me.

"If they split, they might move though, what then?" He said, grabbing the rope to swing himself.

"I don't care, I'll hunt you down and kidnap you." I said, while watching him swing.

He barley made it back to the tree and I grabbed his hand to get him back up to the tree safely.

"Or you can live with us. My brothers room is empty. I'm sure my mom and dad wouldn't mind. Stop thinking so negative about things."

I started to whistle a tune after taking the rope myself looking back at him and then started to sing him the song that went with it.

"Here's a little note I wrote, might want to sing it note for note, don't worry, be happy."

Travis started to laugh and we both were singing the song together after that.
