In the shadows

The carriage stopped.
Mother said something that could have been
"We arrived, my dear."
She seemed delighted.
I did not quite understand, because of the reason I was in thoughts.
"One of your annoying qualities" my governance used tell me.
It did not matter.
I liked swimming in my mind.
The door opened and the driver offered me his hand.
"The Conrich ball"
I took his hand, giving him a tiny smile.
Mother and I walked up to the great entrance.
My back straight, chin rised, eyes on the ground, just like I was told.
I have been raised for this.
As we entered the great hall, my mother excused herself with the words"I will go looking for Mrs Conrich. Dance, find some suitors. When I will return your dance card shall be filled."
She would not return, neither would she look for a person.
Just for the drinks that make her inner demons  get out.
But as alway I did what she wanted me to.
I got myself a glass of lemonade and stood by the side of the dance floor, watching those pretty pairs of gentlemen and ladies.
When would she arrive?
"My lady, might I ask for this dance?"
He might.
But the rare five minutes seemed like hours.
My eyes searched the room. But the steady turning and his shoulders in my field of vision did not help.
As I finally rested on the side again, I still could not see her.
Would she even come?
"He dances like a shipwreck in a tornado."
Every cell in my body activated.
Her shoulder rarely touched mine, while she moved around me.
I breathed in sharply.
Her smell.
It took all of my control not to turn.
I slowly breathed out.
"You are right. His way of turning me was not quite pleasant."
She stood next to me now.
"Have you been enjoying the evening?"
I felt the knuckles of her right hand on mine.
I pushed back, just a little.
"I am thinking of more pleasant ways to spend it."
My head turned, just to find her already looking at me.
Our eyes locked.

"Might I have this dance?"
He asked her. Of course he did. She looked gorgeous.
She said yes. Of course she did. It was our only job.
I watched her.
So pretty in that dress.
My gaze wandered to her gloves.
I closed my Eyes.

In just a few ours, in a safe, dark chamber, i would take them of.
Slowly, I would kiss her hands.
I would look up and stare at her lips, until she could not resist any longer.
She would shut the door and I would push her against it.
Pinning her hips with mine.
Her face in my hands.
Gazing each other.
We would start kissing so soft and end up pushing harder.
Our bodies moving in a rhythm.
I would turn her around and kiss her neck while my fingers were busy opening the corset.
She would let her head fall back under my kisses.
When my dress would be of as well, i led her to the old couch.
Her bare skin on mine.
Her kisses all over my body.
My kisses, slowly getting closer to the spot between her legs.
Her back arching, as my lips touch her inner thighs.
I would gently run my tongue over her. Her moans making me go faster.
I would hold her hips, as her legs start to shake and lie by her as she would breath deaply in and out after.

I opened my eyes.
All the possible suitors. I would marry one of them.
My gaze finds her. I was living a lie.
I was a sinner.
We were ment to be.
Ment to love in the shadows.
