"Well, I kind of already explained and he's not too happy about it," Miles says.

I turn to look at him doubtfully.

"He just kept wasting time trying to kill me, I had to do something. So I told him the truth, I told him you're my mate and that we're expecting a baby and he didn't take it that well. He thinks I forced you or something," Miles explained.

My mouth twists with disgust at the idea of that.

"Well, he needs to hear from me and see for himself that I chose you, I see you and I trust in you and we want to help,"

"Neteyam was shot," Spider says.

"Did you do that?!" I ask turning to Miles.

"No, no. It wasn't me. I didn't really hurt any of Sully's family, the kid got shot when they came to the ship, but it wasn't me." He says. I want to believe him but in the end, the only thing that matters is that he's been shot.

"What- how... how is he?" I ask in fear.

"I don't know, he was shot and then Kiri and Tuk were on the ship so everyone went to help them," he says.

"Do you know where the bullet hit?" Miles asks.

I smack him.

"Wait! I'm asking in good faith, depending on where he got shot are also his chances of making it through it," he explains. "He may also need surgery or something like that, do your people know how to treat bullet wounds?" Miles asks.

They know something, bullets are something still a little strange to us, we only use them when we go out and attack the sky people with Jake but it's not our weapon of choice. The healers in the community don't really have to deal with them.

My silence answers Miles's question.

He sighs and rubs his face.

"Let's go with him, let's just go," he says.

Spider leads us, we have to swim there but thankfully is not that far. I try to make noise so they know we're coming and they should be calm.

"Uncles..." I start as I get out of the water and walk to them, Spider and Miles at my back.

Jake looks a little surprised to see us but not much.

"We're going," Jake announces.

Neytiri looks neutral, until she turns to look at me and she tilts her head, then her eyes widen.

I look down and remember that I left Miles's jacket back there so my belly is visible.

"Anatuat," Neytiri starts in a firm tone. I take Miles's hand and make him stand next to me.

"We mated, it is done. I chose him and he chose me." I say.

Jake shakes his head a little as Neytiri comes forward.

I let her rest her hand on my belly, after all, she's my family, she's been a mother and used to be my leader too.

"Eywa blessed us with a son, she wouldn't have if this was not what was right. If it wasn't what we wanted," I reason with her.

Neytiri looks at me and then at Miles, her ears press down when she looks at him.

"I don't trust you," she tells him.

He purses his mouth and lets out an angry sigh, I squeeze his hand in warning.

"You can take me as a prisoner if you want. Like I said to Jake, I wanted to save Anatuat, then he could do whatever he wanted with me," he explains.

Neytiri makes an exasperated sign with her hand and turns back to talk to Jake.

"Why would you tell him that?" I whisper to him.

"Because that was what I wanted, save your first then... whatever. At least I had to know you were okay," he says. His hand goes to my belly. "That you two were okay," he corrects himself with a little smile.

"You can come with us but he gets cuffed and treated as a prisoner until we decide that he has our trust," Jake says.

"Uncle!-"

"Deal," Miles says interrupting me.

"Miles," I hiss at him.

"Don't worry okay?" He says caressing my cheek.

Jake cuffs his hands to his back and we all begin walking. Spider walks behind Miles but it's more to hide from Neytiri than to protect Miles.

"I heard about Neteyam... where is he?" I ask respectfully to my uncles.

"They took him to the village, I don't know... anything else," Jake answers with difficulty, Neytiri's eyes water as they walk hand in hand.

We stop walking when the trail of rocks ends and Jake rubs his forehead.

"To get there we need our Ilu's but you don't have one..." Jake thinks out loud.

"I have an Ikran," Miles says with pride. Jake shots him a death stare.

"I'll go with him, let me uncuff him for the ride and then I'll put them back on," I say.

"What else can we do?" he asks rhetorically.

Neytiri calls her own Ikran and flies away, the urgency to know how her son is puts pressure on her.

"You come with me Spider," Jake calls to him. He says nothing as Jake calls his Ilu, a water creature, they get on it and wait for Miles and I to get on his Ikran.

Then we all go together, flying and swimming towards the village.
