We were all cruising in the back of TJ's car. Kai and I in the back, Tyler in the front with TJ. For some reason I felt extremely paranoid, like someone was watching and fallowing us, i'd had the feeling since we'd left for the cottage but I tried to ignore it as much as I could. The sun was shining on the windows making the inside of the car nice and warm however it was extremely cold outside. I looked at Kai and he looked at me, smiling his sweet and amazingly kind smile. I beamed back as he took my hand in his and squeezed it. I was extremely excited for the couple of days we'd be spending at the cottage. It wasn't as if we were that far away from home, it was only about a two hour drive there however I noticed the extreme change of scenery as we drove on. The further we went the less buildings we passed and greener everything got. There were beautiful fields either side of the small country road we ventured down and even though it was mid november, there were fewer clouds in the sky. "Right were gonna need to look at that map again" TJ suggested driving on until he found a place where we could safely stop and park.

Even though Kai had the map therefor he and TJ were the only ones who needed to really get out the car, me and Tyler did the same to stretch our stiff legs seeing as we'd been sitting in the same spot for over an hour. When I got out of the car I walked a few metres down the road to stretch my legs as I did this I was able to see round the corner and down the road from where we'd come from. I stopped dead in my tracks as I saw a grey (it was probally but it was extremely dirty) car. It sat there for a while as if the people in the car were looking at me then reversed until I could no longer see it. I thought it really strange and I wished I had been close enough to see who was inside the car. "Eddie come on were ready to go!" Kai called. I turned round and walked back over to them. I kept telling myself that like us they were probally checking a map and when they realised they had gone in the wrong direction they had turned round and driven back the right way. But for some reason I had shivers down my spine.

We took a left turn and started going down an even smaller road. I looked at each of the houses which were spaced very far apart down the lane. They were all pretty little cottages with flowers and ivy growing up the front of them, small white fences surrounding the front gardens. "Number twelve, there it is TJ" Kai said. TJ steered his car into the drive way and hopped out. "Man that was a long drive" he said as he got out, stretching his arms above his head. "Would of been quicker if we got the train, but no one was up for dragging their suitcase from platform to platform" Kai replied opening the boot of the car and picking up my suitcase. It was amazing watching his muscles flex as he picked up something that I found heavy even with my two hands with only one hand. I shivered as the cold air pinched my bare neck and face, I was extremely keen to get inside. As soon as Kai opened the front door we all ran in and explored the house. It was a victorian styled house however the furniture was modern, something Kai's dad had obviously invested in when he bought the place. For a cottage it was actually pretty with a good sized kitchen and a very large front room which contained a television and two big comfy looking sofas.

Then we all trudged up the very steep stairs, our legs still slightly wobbly from the journy there. At the top of the stairs there was a spacious bathroom and on either side were two bedrooms. Kai took me into the room where he would normally sleep when he came to the cottage. There was some floor space where he explained his sister slept on a camping bed. After checking out both rooms I noticed ours was smaller, however it was prettier, and we had a nice view out the front of the house. After we'd unpacked all our things and put them away we descided to walk down to the village to get dinner. I was sitting there eating my chips in silence while everyone was joking around. "What's wrong? Your really quiet" Tyler said. I forced a smile "Nothing, just really hungry!" I was lying, I was still thinking about that car I had seen earlier, I was linking it to the paranoid feeling i'd had all day. Pretty soon it was very dark and so we descided to walk back home. I took Kai's arm and wrapped it round me making him squeeze me close to warm up my body. I whimpered slightly as the cold pinched my skin through my many layers of clothing, "Shh, I know" Kai said softly, picking me up and carrying me like a baby.
