II: Can't leaf this situation behind, can you now?

Start from the beginning

"I was taking care of my plants and fixing my room," Tree said. "I haven't seen anything strange."

"I see," Two said, rubbing the back of their head. "I guess we really got no lead, huh... I've already talked to everyone," they frowned. "I hope the other hosts have been having better luck."

"It's okay, Two," Remote said, patting their back. "There are 110 objects here. The chances of one of them not knowing anything is low."

"You're right. Thanks, Remote!" they smiled. "I should go speak with those people again and see if they got anything." They turned around, walking away before they paused. "Oh, right! I talked with Just Not earlier and Gaty told me Nickel was missing when they woke up. So if any of you spot him, please tell me."

"You can count on us, Two," Lightning smiled.

"Yeah!" Remote exclaimed.

Two smiled at the team. "Thank you guys again! I'll update you all soon if anything happens. Until then, goodbye!" they said, turning around and leaving this time.

"So Nickel's missing?" Black Hole said. "Where do you think he went?"

"I did see him leave the hotel when I was out flying, but I just assumed he went back..." Lightning said.

"Well, it wouldn't make sense for all of us to be here if he isn't," Tree said. "Maybe he woke up before the others and went somewhere else..."

"Do you think if I play Nickel like I played Four in episode Four will make him appear?" Marker asked.

"Four is an alien! Nickel is not! So it is unlikely!" Fanny shouted.

"Darn," Marker frowned, putting his hands on his 'hips'.

"Let's just keep an eye out like Two said," Black Hole said, flying out of the ground. "He can't have gone far. He doesn't know this place. Chances are he's around somewhere."

The team just gave their affirmations before Marker began talking to Lightning. Tree took this moment to relax, closing his eyes and enjoying the breeze against his leaves.

Unseen from the TPOT contestants, a silver coin was behind the crowd of Inanimate Insanity contestants. He cursed under his breath, wondering how he was supposed to keep his secret when both of the shows he was competing in were on the same land.

"Shit." Nickel began pacing back and forth, stressed out. "Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit!"

Of course, this had to happen to him. Right when everything was getting better. He didn't hate Balloon as much, he was getting further in the season... And after some convincing, Test Tube even made a teleportation device for him so he didn't miss any TPOT challenges! Plus, she didn't have to know about his double life either! So why did the world have to do this to him?

He scowled. He was certain if it was possible, the grass would be set on fire purely from his glare.

Nickel didn't know what to do. He took a few deep breaths, cooling down enough to stop pacing. In season two, he was a completely different person whilst competing in BFB all the same. He realized he wasn't letting his thoughts run loose or putting up walls- he was being a total asshole.

BFB and TPOT were coping mechanisms when Inanimate Insanity got stressful. The whole alliance situation, Suitcase voting him out, Balloon... He was glad they were able to tolerate each other in the recent season, but holy cents, he was happy to get away from the pressure. He didn't have to worry about slip-ups or being seen as weak. He acted stupider, admittedly, but his team didn't mind at all. In fact, they were the same. He was on a team with a bunch of weirdos and he was a weirdo himself. He had the chance to be himself with a few limitations.

...Okay, a lot of limitations. Though that didn't stop him from feeling free, even the slightest bit. He just had to hold back his sarcastic comments and have a better hold on his emotions.

He wishes he could've remembered that in season two.

He frowned to himself, sitting down on the grass. He had a lot of issues and he wasn't going to deny that. Not anymore. He could've let himself be more open in Inanimate Insanity, BFB, and TPOT. Instead, he pushed everyone away one way or another. He expressed too much in Inanimate Insanity (far beyond what he actually felt) and too little in BFB and TPOT. Being on two of the most popular shows isn't easy but nobody drew the connection. He just had to keep it up between the contestants.

He was facing the two most important things in his life. If only it wasn't so life-changing...

That was when an idea popped up in his mind. Nickel shook his head (himself?), letting a steely expression take over his face. He could do it. He could do it. He didn't have to bother with the stares or the questions or maybe the betrayal he would see on Baseball's face. He just had to make sure he wasn't in the wrong place at the wrong time. It wasn't like he was running away from his problems again, no, no, no. He was simply finding a way to fix them.

Surely acting like two different people at the same time wouldn't be that hard, right?
