Peter liked the girl in our science class so much that he joined a club she was in, and dragged Ned and I along with him.

The Academic Decathalon. Needless to say, Bruce was proud.

There was one thing I discovered about clubs though, there was a lot of extra stuff you had to do.

We had 'practices' every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon, and quite a few field trips.

One of these field trips, was today.

Tony thought it was stupid for us to tour a research center, apparently he didn't like this one.

"Here at the University of Columbia, we have a multitude of research projects in play, ranging from various radiations to experimental psychologies," the tour guide said.

She was a student who seemed like she really didn't want to be there.

She took us through a lab, there was a glass wall with various machinery and a few people in lead suits, "What you see my fellow colleagues doing right now..."

I tuned her out, tapping on Peter's shoulder, "I am going to the bathroom,".

He glanced at me and nodded, "I'll come with you,".

I rolled my eyes, but we both slipped away from the group and out into the hall. I had seen a bathroom sign pointing to the opposite side of the building, so that's where we went.

"I will be back," I told him as I opened the bathroom door.

"Just don't fall in," he joked as the door closed.

I rolled my eyes as I locked the door, Peter was lucky I liked him.

I heard a crash from somewhere outside the door as I washed my hands. I dried off my hands before walking out, Peter wasn't there anymore.

I furrowed my eyebrows, "Peter?" I called.

There was silence.

"God damnit Peter, where are you?" I whispered to myself as I started towards an open door. There was no one there.

I continued down the hall looking into open doors, I found him in the last one.

He was on his knees holding his hand and someone in a white apron stood above him.

"What happened?" I demanded as I darted up to the pair, kneeling beside Peter.

There was an angry looking red bump on his hand with a dot of blood.

"Please don't tell anyone! I'll get in so much trouble!" The boy in the apron pleaded.

I sent him a vicious glare, he cowered, "What. Happened," I growled at him.

The boy pointed at a broken glass container that had a twig laying in the shards, "I was experimenting with an orb weaver spider and I dropped it and he came in and he tried to pick it up and you shouldn't pick up spiders but he did and it bit him and now I don't know where it went," the boy rambled out.

I stood up, stalking towards the boy, he stumbled back until he hit a table, "An orb weaver bite should not hurt like that," I snapped at him, motioning towards Peter.

"I-I was experimenting with gamma radiation," he stammered out, "Please don't tell anyone... I-I'll pay you!"

I pulled the knife Natasha had given me out of my pocket and put the tip to his neck, "If something happens to him," I motioned my thumb back towards Peter, "I will find you,".

All of the color had drained from his face.

"Do you understand?" I growled at him.

He said nothing, but swallowed thickly and nodded his head eagerly.

I flipped my knife back in my jacket pocket and went back to Peter, who'd stood back up and was staring at me in shock.

"Let us get back with the group," I whispered to him, taking hold of his non-injured hand.
