Taehyun didn't even flinch when the door of his bedroom cracked open. He didn't look up to see who walked inside. He was just busy staring at the floor with puffy, dull eyes as he sat on the edge of the bed with hands folded in his lap, head held down like a dog that lost its owner after being hit by car, or a child that got scolded for stealing an ice cream cone.
It had already gotten dark as the night had come and Taehyun knew it would take time until he could find comfort in sleep again. His brain was still wired from earlier when it had been buzzing and pulsing like a nightmare. The headache had never felt so bad before.
The boy didn't react even when some weight settled onto the bed next to him, or when he heard the sound of heavy breaths. No matter who it was, the person beside him must have been hurting as much as Taehyun was right now because all they were doing was sitting there while waiting for their hearts to stop throbbing painfully in their chests. Taehyun wished that pain could be alleviated somehow but he couldn't help but feel like there were no solutions anymore. All he wanted was to go back to normal. But it was only a dream which would never come true.
"I was still devastated because of you when I first came here," Yeonjun's voice cut through the silence. A part of Taehyun hated how gentle Yeonjun was, how soothing his deep, raspy voice sounded even though it was hoarse, and yet another part of him was glad that he spoke. "I was trying hard to use my studies as a distraction; I would read and study whole days but it only seemed to exhaust me more. I had completely lost hope and I didn't know how to survive anymore...
"Then someone appeared in my life; someone that made me smile and laugh and brightened my mood like no other. That same someone was there for me when I went through tough times; when everything became really difficult and I needed to rely on them most of the time to make it better... One day I stayed at his house. We drank really much and he even gave me drugs. I thought they were supposed to help me and they really did. It had been a long time I hadn't felt that good."
Yeonjun's voice wavered as he applied pressure to his hands, squeezing them together until his knuckles turned white as if anxiety was continuously poisoning his blood, "I lost my virginity to him that night," Yeonjun tried hard not to let his voice crack as the memories resurfaced and he closed his eyes to fight tears. He was feeling so ashamed for confessing those things to Taehyun, but he knew he needed to tell him about that part of his past. They needed to talk.
"The next morning a few people broke into his house and attacked him for having debts. That's when I found out that he was a drug dealer, but I didn't get mad... He was the only one I had, so I tried my best to understand him and stand by his side. After some days, we went on a date to the club. We were drinking when I asked if he had more pills and he did... But he gave me more dose than normal and I didn't know it. It clouded my mind so much I didn't know what was happening around me anymore... That's how I ended up in a stranger's bed in the middle of the night, with him nowhere to be seen..."
