I saw how Quartz tried to suppress his laughter but busted out laughing anyway as his twin's face reddened, and that told me two things.

Either the feminine products are his, or the pink dainty toothbrush is.

I wouldn't have expected Onyx to own such feminine products, what the fuck.

"Oh, pfft-" Quartz tried to reign in his laughter to no avail before answering me.

"It's all his, alright. Hahahahahaha!!!" His boisterous laughter was contagious, causing me to laugh along with him as Onyx threatened us with his stare as if saying: 'I'm cooking the food, want me to poison it?'.

That shut both of us up quickly.

"And by the way, the pink dainty toothbrush is yours. I," Quartz pointed to himself proudly, "took the liberty of putting it there."

"Surely she appreciates the effort, brother." Onyx sarcastically said as he turned to me and winked, not wanting me to mind what his white-haired twin said.

"Of course, she would-"

"-That you thought of her morning breath first thing in the morning." If I could describe Onyx's face right now, it would be this: 😌.

Quartz gasped dramatically as he prepared to counter his brother's statement while I proceeded to brush my teeth and wash my face.

Strangely enough, their bickering so early in the morning doesn't annoy me as much as I would've thought it would. Maybe it's the mere presence of them that I kind of knew that I'm immediately comfortable with them, or they're just that easy to get along with.

But on the likelihood that if I was comfortable with them, that doesn't mean that my guard is down. Thoughts of them betraying me almost got to my head, but I dispelled them.

Alright, madness is creeping in, let's go outside before the twins see the real me this time.

The dining table was a sleek, black, rectangular one, a table that I knew cost a fortune before the apocalypse. They had already set up the table while I was gone, with both of them a seat apart on the side of the table and was expecting me to sit in between them, if the empty, white, pristine plate there was any indication.

I decided to sit on the head of the table, with them on my right side, gawking at me.

I looked at them, the left side of my lips tilting up. "What?" I brought my hands in front of me and intertwined them, resting my chin on it, "You said to make myself at home." I showed a helpless expression on my face and dragged my plate from between them to my seat, looking at them both in the eyes and daring them to do something about it.

I'm not acting like an asshole, really. There's a reason why I chose not to sit in between them. I don't like being put in a vulnerable position, and sitting in between them? Darling, that's the most vulnerable place there is. I'm going to be vulnerable as fuck. They might cage me in between them, and as much as I'd like that twin sandwich to happen, it's not going to happen now. (A/N: Or in this book, for that matter. ( ͡ ° ͜ʖ ͡ °))

"Right, what's the agenda for today?" I broke the tension with my question. I already saw the wicked thoughts swarming in their eyes before they snapped back to normal, an unreadable expression on their identical faces as they adjusted in their seats.

Um... were these boys touch-starved? I really doubt it. But damn, we just met.

Since Onyx was the closest one to me, he took the liberty of putting rice on my plate as well as answering my question. Ohohoho, love language, I see you.
