AUTHOR'S POV

"Aiyoo, your baby is so fat!" she huffed trying to pull the dress down her stomach.

"Hey, don't bad mouth about my baby" Abhimanyu said not looking up from his laptop.

Churr...

He heard a ripping sound and looked up from his laptop.

She was looking at him with wide eyes standing still.

She looked down slowly at her now-torn dress.

"Hey hey it's fine" he ran to her exactly knowing what was next to come.

Her eyes were brimming with tears.

"It was my favorite dress" she sobbed.

"I will buy you a new one" he rubbed her back.

"It got it on sale" she sobbed more.

"No worries. I will buy you a more beautiful one' he comforted her.

"Really?" she asked looking at his face.

"Of course, love' he smiled.

"Ok. Buy 3" she smiled wiping her tears.

He looked at her in disbelief. Yeah, that's what pregnancy hormones do to you. Not that she was any better before.

"Where are you going?" he asked as she again walked to the closet.

"To get a new dress" she shrugged searching for a new dress from the pile of infinite dresses.

He shook his head going back to work.

He can never get ready enough to handle his 7 months pregnant wife...

1 sheep

2 sheep

3 sheep

.

.

103 sheep

104 she...

The door opened with a crack sound slowly.

Abhimanyu peeked inside to find his wife again counting sheep.

He sighed and entered inside losing his tie.

"You again didn't sleep?" he asked placing his office bag on the table.

"Shh..." she motioned toward their baby girl who was sleeping peacefully in her cradle.

"Oh sorry" he whispered.

He went to the washroom to freshen up.

Coming back, he looked towards the backyard where Advaita was waiting for him.

He first went to the cradle where their 4-month-old princess was sleeping.

He chuckled listening to her cute snores.

He caressed her hair lovingly and kissed her chubby cheeks before coming out into the backyard.

"I told you to sleep early" he said sitting beside her.

"I can't sleep without you" she placed her head on his shoulder.

He kissed her forehead and then they both sat under the sky in silence with no light except for the moonlight.

Because their Pankti was enough to light up their world...

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thud!

A loud voice of shattering glass echoed in the house.

"I will not leave them today!" Advaita furiously walked to the backyard from the kitchen with a rolling pin in her hand.

When she reached there, she found the culprits standing there like the dear caught in the red light.

They were standing there with their head hung low like they are the most obedient kids ever.

"Daddy, Mumma walks like a penguin" 4-year-old Pankti whispered to her father who was standing beside her.

Both of them controlled their laughs.

"What's so funny? Huh? Tell me also" Advaita glared at them.

They zipped their mouths and again looked at the ground.

"Who did this?" she asked motioning towards the broken window.

"Pap.." before Pankti could complete, Abhimanyu covered her mouth with his palm and picked her up.

"Why did you do this huh? Such a bad girl you are. Let me scold you properly inside. Don't worry Ita, I will handle her" he laughed nervously and went inside with a struggling Pankti in his arms.

Advaita looked at them with an open mouth.

Then she shook her head going inside the kitchen again.

"Like father like daughter" she murmured.

"Hey baby, don't tell your Mumma that I broke the glass" he pleaded to his daughter as soon as he placed her on the sofa.

"Ok. Give me 5 chocolates" she smirked flipping her hair.

He looked at her in disbelief. From where she is learning all this.

He sighed giving her chocolates from the drawer otherwise he will have to sleep in the backyard tonight with fishes and mosquitos.

"Like mother like daughter" he murmured...

...

"She slept?" Advaita asked Abhimanyu who came into the backyard after putting their daughter to sleep.

"Hmm" he smiled sitting on the ground where she was sitting on the chair.

He took her swollen feet in his lap and massaged them gently with the oil.

She just sat there looking at him adoringly.

What else she could ask for?

He looked at her with a smile still massaging her feet.

She is carrying their child for the second time, being in so much pain still smiling like nothing is happening.

What else he could ask for?

He placed the oil aside and forwarded his hand which she gladly took.

He played a song on his phone and slowly helped her stand up.

"It's our date night, dear wife" he whispered snaking his arms around her waist.

Her big tummy coming between them made both of them giggle.

Haatho mein hai haath tere
Hai jeena humein saath tere
Naam pe tere yeh zindagi karjaavan

Tu meri heer main tera ranjha
Karta hoon main tujhse ye wada..
Tere bager na koi duja ..soniye.

Tu meri heer main tera ranjha..
Chahoon tujhe main khudse bhi jyada..
Main ek pyasa, tu nir banja soniye

"After the date night, we will switch off the lights and sit under the sky in each other's arms, gazing at the infinite stretch of stars"

"And just like that, we will grow older, with each other..."
