Chapter 15

"Hi! I'm Marley I'm in your science class." She said holding out her hand for her to shake.
Max got of her skateboard and came over and shook her hand.

"I'm Max. You don't have to fake a smile by the way."

"Sorry. I just wanted to know how you were." Marley lied.

"I'm alright. Hey you seem cool, do you wanna go to the arcade sometime?" She asked.

"Sure. Is after school ok?" Marlow replied.

"Yeah after schools alright. Hold on I'm sorry do you mind coming inside with me i feel like someone's watching us." Max whispered.

"Yeah sure." Marley said walking inside with her. As they were walking she took a scrunched up paper out her jacket pocket and wrote a quick note on it then scrunched it up again.

"What's that?" Marley asked.

"Its just a test to see if someone is stalking us." She smirked. As Marley walked up the stairs to the back door of the school she dropped the paper into a trash can then walked with her inside. Marley followed her to her locker where she put her skateboard inside.

"What time after school?" She asked.

"Hmm... Is 4 ok?" Marley questioned.

"4 is fine yeah. Anyway I'm gonna go get something quick form the cafeteria, I'll see you around Marley." Max said walking away as she waved to her. Marley walked outside to see the boys crowded around the trash can and looking at the note, which read 'stop spying on us creeps!'.

"Jesus you idiots." Marley laughed as she came up to your friends.

"So is it her?" Dustin asked throwing the one back into the trash.

"I'm going with her to the arcade tonight, if you still want to spy on her then you can wait outside." Marley smirked. Before anyone else could speak, the principal came around the corner.

"William Byers? Your mothers here."
Will sighed and followed the principal to the front of the building. They all knew what it was for, ever since the Upside Down Will needed to go to a lab everyone once and a while for a checkup. This was the same lab where Eleven had escaped from. Only the ones that tortured El were gone and had been replaced, they were killed by Eleven or the demogorgon last year.
Will walked away with the principal leaving Marley alone with Mike, Lucas and Dustin. They crept around the building so they all had perfect sight of the front of your school, where Marley could see Joyce waiting for Will in front of her car. After a few seconds Will appeared.

"You guys think he's ok?" Dustin questioned.

"He's always weird when he has to go in." Lucas sighed.

"I don't know. He's quiet today." Mike sighed.

"He's always quiet." Lucas answered.

"Today he seems more quiet then usual." Marley mumbled. They all watched as Will drove off down the road and into the distance.
That night Marley got ready to meet with Max at the arcade, she grabbed some money from her jar then cycled to the arcade to meet Max. When Marley arrived she noticed Lucas's and Dustin's bikes in the bike stand, she looked into the window but they were no where to be seen. She looked around until Marley saw both of them hiding behind a far away car, they were looking at her with binoculars. They waved at Marley but she just smiled and flipped them off. Marley looked back inside and noticed that Max hadn't arrived yet, she decided that while she waited for Max she would talk to Dustin and Lucas. When Marlow reached the boys she hit them both over the head.

"What the hell are you doing here?" She exclaimed.

"You said we could come!" Dustin argued.
"As a joke dingus!" Marley yelled.

"We just want to know if she is MADMAX or not." Lucas sighed.

"That's what I'm doing! You asked me to find out!" Marlow hissed. Just then a car pulled up in front of the arcade, the licence plate read California so Marley instantly knew it was Max. She could hear the heavy metal music coming from the car, Marlow guessed she had an older brother. She jumped out the car then starting arguing with the driver.

"Oh their arguing their arguing!" Lucas exclaimed looking through his binoculars.

"No shit." Marley mumbled bending down to get out of sight.

"Yeah we can see i don't even know why you need those." Dustin sighed. The car sped off while Max flipped the driver off, Marlow waved bye to Dustin and Lucas and ran over to Max.

"Hey Max. Who was that?" Marley asked walking with Max inside the arcade.

"Oh just my dick for a stepbrother." Max sighed. "Do you have siblings?"

"I have an older brother who I live with." Marley said while counting her coins.

"If you don't mind me asking, what happened to your parents?" Max asked counting her coins as well.

"Well my mum and dad split when I was younger, I went with mum and she became abusive, so I left and came to live with Steve." Said Marley as her and Max walked inside

"Hang on i gotta check something." Max said dragging her over to the Dig Dug game. "Yes I'm still top!"

"Oh yeah it used to be Dustin then you beat him. Was it hard?" Marley asked.

"Are you kidding me no. I could have done it while sleeping." She exclaimed.

Marlow and max both laughed, Marley turned around to the window while Max played a round of Dig Dug. She saw Lucas and Dustin looking in on them, Marley just flipped them off and brought her attention back to Max.
Marley and Max played in the arcade for a while until her stepbrother arrived to take her home, after she said bye Marley met with Lucas and Dustin and got on there bikes.

"She said it was easy breaking your top score by the way." Marley said while riding off.

"Your kidding." Dustin sighed. After riding for a while Dustin decided to tell Mike that Max was MADMAX. He had his headset on and played around with the radio.

"Mike hello is that you?"

"Hello is that you?!" Mike sounded really hopeful as if something amazing was talking to him.

"Yeah its me Dustin. What're you doing on this channel again? Ive been trying to reach you all day. We were right. Max is MADMAX."

"Yeah I'm busy." Mike said Turing off his radio, he sounded really disappointed. Dustin ignored Mike and asked you a question.

"So Marley we were thinking, what if Max joins us for trick or treating tomorrow?"

"That would be cool. Only we should talk about it with everyone first." She responded.

"Last time i checked our party is not a dictatorship. Its a democracy." Dustin argued.

"What if Max says no?" Lucas questioned.

"How can Max say no to these?" Dustin then made a purring noise with his teeth, making Lucas sigh and you chuckle.

"I told you to stop doing that!" Lucas exhaled.

The next day was Halloween and Marley was more than ready for the day, the boys were going as the ghostbusters, Marley had refused to dress up for school.
