"See you tomorrow Ella" my friend and co- worker, Aurora said while I snuck out through the backdoor, I still had one hour of my shift left. Aurora already offered to help out regardless, I didn't want to get caught by Mr.Bernard, he was a sweet man but when it came to deduction of salaries, he wasn't all that nice.

I had been working at the diner for a year and a half now and i had gotten used to the people that worked there and even the regulars. I enjoyed the night calmness , The moon was soothing unlike the harshness that came with the sun, I spotted a star that shined the brightest, closing my eyes I made a wish. I chuckled at my own childishness.

"Ella! Elvis from the book store opposite the diner called out to me, You shouldn't be walking home all by yourself, it isn't safe", I think i can manage and I don't think you're much of a threat to bad guys, I said giving him a smile. You mean this is not? he countered trying to flex off his bisceps. You're ridiculous, I burst out laughing. We walked in silence for a little while.

"I'm starting College next month, Elvis" i said breaking the silence, He halted not taking another step further, his grip on his bag pack tightened, He turned around with a smile on his face "I'm so happy for you" but his eyes said otherwise.

I have known Elvis liked me more than a friend should, but he never said anything to me and neither did I like him in that manner, I mostly brushed it off as a childish crush, that would come to an end soon, we soon got to the spot where we parted ways, we said our goodbyes and i was off, the closer I got to the house the heavier my heart felt. I was back to this again.....
