Chapter Eleven

Kazu looks away shamefully while Aizawa pinches the bridge between his eyes. "Can we just get a waiver or something? Good behavior log?" Aizawa questions boredly.

Horikoshi drops his pen and leans against his elbows, giving them a serious look. "Listen, I'm going to be blunt and honest with you. Omega's are highly protected nowadays due to the decline and certain laws being passed. That means my hands are tied as far as the law goes. And the law clearly states that any omega that is in legal trouble, must have an alpha to fall back on. Otherwise, they must be admitted into the program."

Kazu and Aizawa exchanged looks as if debating on what to do. They didn't have many options and at this rate, Kazu's whole life was about to be flushed down the shitty alpha potty.

"However," the lawyer speaks out, cutting through the thick tension that had grown in the room. "We could always pretend you're not an omega."

Aizawa quirks an eyebrow. "Hmm?"

Horikoshi looks around his office before standing and making his way to the open door. Shutting it, he turns to face them. "Who else knows she's an omega?"

Aizawa looks at Kazu and she shrugs her shoulders. "Just you, Mr. Aziawa, and my...uh street friend?" She didn't know what to call Hiroshi legally. "But he wouldn't ever be involved in something like this, and he won't blab."

Horikoshi narrowed his eyes. "How sure? Because once we commit, there's no other option out of it."

"What option is this?" Aizawa asks skeptically.

The lawyer sits back in his spot, pulling out his notes from their last meeting. "If we keep your sub gender a secret, then we can carry on with the original plan. Aizawa has written here that he is willing to pay the 10k bond, with the intention of also providing a character witness statement at your hearing. Depending on the judge, I'm sure his good reputation will serve well when speaking upon your growth. Therefore, you'll be free without worrying about the omega side of things."

"Can we do that? Isn't that lying?" Kazu questions worriedly while glancing at her boss.

Horikoshi sighs deeply before leaning back in his chair dramatically. "I don't know what other option we have. You don't want an alpha, you don't want the program, and you don't want to lie. Seems to me, you shouldn't have--" He cuts himself off shortly when he sees the angry glint flashing his way. "I mean, Ms. Kato, these are the only options we have. Please tell me what you would like to do."

Kazu felt overwhelmed, she's never had to make a big decision like this before. Whatever option she chose, would directly affect her current life. Jail? Alpha? Lies? What would be the best options, what would keep her safe and with Eri, without breaking the law?

As her mind scrambled with what to do, she didn't realize she had nearly curled up into a ball in her chair. Her knees pressed to her chest as she hugged herself tightly, a defense mechanism she had adopted throughout the years on the street. Her eyes were casted downward as she began to chew on her bottom lip, nearly rocking in place from the anxiety and turmoil she was experiencing.

Just when she thought she was going to crumble, a large hand caressed her shoulder. A soothing vibration filled her body while a sweet scent of jasmine, sandalwood, and vanilla wafted to her nose, and when she inhaled it, her body instantly relaxed.

What...was this? She breathed deeply, looking up to where the soothing vibrations and smell were coming from. To her shock, the large alpha beside her was giving her a low gazed expression.

His eyes glazed over as his chest rumbled deeply with omega calming waves. It was the first time in his life Aizawa ever used his alpha purr, but when he saw the small omega in front of him begin to stress, it was like his deepest instinct broke free and took over his DNA.
