Long ago, there were 5 precious Gemstones. These were no ordinary gems, for these possessed magical qualities that invoked different powerful emotions.

The first of these was the Yellow Citrine. This gem invoked the feeling of pure happiness. It was also said to be a family heirloom of House Renna, whose members used it to help those that were suffering. But when used wrongly, it can drive one to insanity.

The second of these Gems is the Blue Agate. It invoked the feeling of pure sadness. It is the heirloom of House Cessarie, and many of its members were known to have suffered depression when the gem was in their possession. It was rumoured that if you slept with it under your pillow, it would show you glimpses of the future. If someone were to hold this Gem while in a rage, it would calm them down instantly.

The third of these Gems is the Green Peridot. It is the heirloom of House Erasmus and invokes the feeling of envy and pride. Possessors of this gem were often successful in life due to their confidence in themselves and unwavering determination. Victims of this gemstone were overwhelmed by its negativity and succumbed to their jealousy, leading them to go to unspeakable lengths to get what they wanted.

The fourth of these Gems is the Pink Sapphire. It invoked the feeling of love, and was the heirloom of House Amara. Some members were overpowered by the Gem and became infatuated with the ones they loved.

The fifth Gem is the White Spinel. This is the only Gem of the five that is able to counter any of the other Gems' magic. As it gives the holder a clear mind and blocks out emotional distractions. It was the heirloom of House Soron, until it was lost in time. The last known member in possession of the gem is Wendy Soron. The possessors of this Gem were known to be apathetic and unfeeling.

It is said that every thousand years, the Gems' magic shall grow more powerful until they affect not just the possessor of the Gem, but surrounding bystanders as well. When this happens the 4 Gems must be united with the White Spinel, the 5th Gem will act as a filter, the emotions will be in balance and the Gems themselves will cease to exist until the full moon after the unification.

These Gems have been passed down for generations, embedded into clothes and fine jewellery, the Houses which the Gems were passed down in met together and got along. Following the traditions of uniting the Gems together to bring balance. One day however a feud broke out between the families and a father of the House Soron took matters into his own hands, stole the Gems and united them before their proper unification. Because of this he disrupted the cycle of the Gems, and they disappeared from the world for centuries. Now they have resurfaced. But alas, with these 5 Gems away from their rightful possessors, who knows what the world may face, should they fall into the wrong hands.

Nara Fallon stared at the comb in her hands. It was bronze, with a few small diamonds encrusted into it. But what interested her was the big blue agate embedded in the centre.

She looked out the window. A vast land outside. She looked at her desk. A pile of homework that had not yet been completed. Open notes for an upcoming test. Yet, what was the point, in any of that? What was the point in trying anymore? These were the thoughts in Nara's head as she tucked the comb into her hair. She decided to take a walk.

A young boy fingered the ring he wore on a chain. It was gold, with a green peridot in it. He looked over to his test sheet and smiled. A perfect score. Then he looked up and saw his classmate, Dolores Kris, beam in happiness at her high test score. In that moment, he couldn't help but feel just a twinge of jealousy.

He especially noticed the yellow gem that was on her pendant. He narrowed his eyes at it. But said nothing. After school was over, he decided to take a detour to the playground near his house. When he saw someone else had taken up his usual spot on the swings.

Feeling envious, he took the swing next to the stranger. "You're in my spot." he said softly. The stranger looked over to him. He was surprised by how she looked. Long, slightly unkept hair, a small frown, and downturned sleepy eyes. What intrigued him was the bronze comb she wore in her hair. And the stranger's surprised expression to see him.

"You're Leon Wrenning, right?" she asked. Leon was astonished. How could she possibly know his name? "How do you-" "I saw you in a dream. You introduced yourself to someone else." the girl shrugged, holding out her hand. "Nara Fallon.".

"So.... Fallon. What brings you over. Which school are you from? I never see you around." "Jeez, you ask that like you want to date me or something." Nara said, turning her head away from Leon. Leon responded, "Seriously?".

"Hm, hate to interrupt the first date. But I have a few questions about your jewellery." said a voice. The pair turned to see a girl getting off a spring horse nearby.

The girl had short, black hair and what stuck out from her was a silver bangle that had a pink gem encrusted in it. This was the second time Leon encountered a surprise stranger, but Nara was unfazed.

"I'm Grace Amara. And I assume you got your ring and comb recently?" the girl said smoothly. Nara said, "I'm Nara Fallon. This comb has been in my family for generations." "Hey same for my ring. I'm uh, Leon Wrenning by the way. You look pretty." Leon blurted out the last bit.

Grace looked satisfied. "My bangle is an heirloom as well. Have you two ever experienced weird mood swings, like a sudden hit of a specific emotion? I think we should team up if you want to know more about the heirlooms you have.".

"Wait what do you have to do with our heirlooms?" Leon asked, puzzled. "Because I think our heirlooms, well, a specific part, of the heirlooms, are connected in some way. And I'm keen on finding out." Grace explained. "So, you with me, or not?".
