I've been looking for some information about it, so I know what a cortisone shot actually does. A cortisone shot can suppress pain for anywhere from six weeks to six months. Within several days, the relief can be nearly complete, even for those suffering from extreme pain.

There's concern that repeated cortisone shots might damage the cartilage within a joint. So doctors typically limit the number of cortisone shots into a joint. In general, you shouldn't get cortisone injections more often than every six weeks and usually not more than three or four times a year.

Okay, I think that says enough. One shot is enough for six weeks to six months. Most people recover from a shoulder separation, within 2 to 12 weeks. So I'm definitely not going to let him take another cortisone shot until the six weeks are up.

It can take up to 7 days for a cortisone injection to begin working in the body. So he may still be in pain tomorrow. Maybe he can stay with me tonight. I can cook for him, I'll take care of him. We can watch a movie together. Which movie did he like again? Something with sports. I don't really like sports movies but if it makes Jackson happy then we will watch that movie.

I'm in the waiting room. Thinking about what I'm going to cook for Jackson, when I saw Stiles walking into the waiting room. Hmm, I guess Scott is going to be sniffing the body now.

I looked up when I saw Stiles walking towards me. "Hey, Stiles." I smiled at him before he could say anything.

"Oh..ehh..hey Lydia." he smiles nervously. "A-are waiting for someone?" he asks me while fiddling with his flannel.

"Yeah, I'm waiting for Jackson. He's here for his shoulder." I tell him with a small smile. "Are you waiting for someone?" I ask him back.

"Yeah, Scott. I'm waiting for Scott." he says while still standing in front of me. "Well, looks like we're both waiting." I smile at him.

"You don't want to sit next to me?" I asked a little teasingly when after a while he still wouldn't sit down.

His eyes widen and his mouth falls open. "Wha...I..m-me?..n-no..I..y-yes..I..I don't..I..what?" he started to stutter. Is he alright? Did I break him?

Before I could even repeat my question he had already sat down next to me. He looks really nervous. Am I making him nervous? I hope he's not uncomfortable though. I don't really like it when people feel uncomfortable around me.

I startle when I feel a familiar feeling. A familiar tingling sensation runs through my hand. A tingle I only felt when Jackson touches me. I look up to see that Stiles accidentally put his hand on mine on the arm of the chair. There's that feeling again, but this time it's with Stiles. Does that mean anything?

I look up at Stiles to see him looking at our hands, a look of awe on his face. He must have felt that too, right? He slowly looks up at me, adoration in his eyes. "D-did you feel that t-too?" he whispers with a sparkle in his eyes.

"Y-yeah, I felt that too." I whisper back to him. I'm confused. I don't know why I feel like this. What does this feeling mean? I mean, it feels really nice but what is it?

After realizing that his hand was still on mine, he reluctantly pulled it back. Not wanting to lose the amazing feeling he just felt. "S-sorry" he says quickly.

"Don't worry about it." I smile quietly. He smiles back at me, an unknown emotion in his eyes. Out of the corner of my eye, I see that his hand keeps twitching towards mine.

I looked away from Stiles when I heard a door open. I see Jackson walking down the hall. His other hand rests protectively over his injured shoulder. He looks like he's in pain. He will definitely come home with me tonight.
