"Bullshit."

"Okay, okay! We just wanted to help. We have food in the van, water... and shelter. I'm sure we could keep you fed." Tootsie barked, as if she understood what he meant and he panicked. "Both of you, fed."

I guess Tootsie liked his answer, if her going to Connor's side and asking for pets were any indication.

I scrunched my eyebrows together. I wouldn't mind being with them and sticking together, but enough zombie books taught me that being in groups will end badly. The type where it'll lead to their deaths or worse, mine.

If you were wondering if Tootsie was being petted by Connor, she is.

Also, there's gonna be some sort of attachment that will form if I decided to stay with them. Even now as I continue to converse with them, I'm starting to feel at ease with them.

Which is not a good thing.

I want to be alone, for now. And try to survive on my own before seeking their help. If we ever see each other in the future, that is.

Blonde guy has yet to introduce himself and asked the person beside him, "Why can't you form a sentence without a swear word, Darius? Just, why?" Ooohhhh... so, the jerk's name is Darius. I could tell blonde guy was vexed by him in the way his head shook disapprovingly, like a father to his rascal of a son.

"I'll pass up on the offer. But thanks for asking." I said, as I stifled a laugh. Their hairs reminded me of those paint colors you saw on a watercolor pallet. In order from left to right, we have blue-black guy, the guy with the glasses who have bright blonde hair, the silent black-haired guy, Alistair who's a redhead, and Connor who had mousse brown hair.

I bet my dog they're not from around here, nor from the Philippines for that matter. They look... foreign. Fortunately, I know how to speak English. And what the heck, they're all different from each other. I crossed out the possibility of them being siblings.

Alistair's probably Scottish, black-haired guy must be Korean, blue-black I don't know, blondie maybe American, mousse brown, I don't know either.

Alistair saw how I'm a bit overwhelmed with facing multiple people at once. "Guys, why don't we introduce ourselves to her first so as not to overwhelm her too much." He suggested.

They started introducing themselves one by one, starting with the blue-black-haired guy.

"Hellooooo," this motherfucker-- "I'm Darius. Now get in the fucking van."

Blondie slapped the back of his head, "I'm Edward. Sorry about Darius, he's an ass."

Darius looked at Edward with a deadpan, "I've got a great ass, if that's what you fucking mean."

"That's definitely not what I meant."

"I'm Alistair, as you know. I hope you don't forget because usually when people--" the brown-haired guy pushed Alistair away from me, and this guy gave me my personal space back which Alistair took previously.

"Introductions again," He sighs, "Hi I'm Connor. Alistair's usually not this hyper, but he is now." He glared in Alistair's direction before looking back at me and pointing at the silent boy, who was just looking at me and blinked.

"He's Zachary, but we call him Z for short. He's not mute, he's just conserving his energy because according to him, talking takes up most of it."

Uhuh... okay?

"How about your name?" Alistair jumped in front of me again and held my hand, and it took all my willpower not to flinch at the sudden touch.

I figured there's no such time as now to let them know my name.
