I looked at my phone again refreshing it and low and behold his location says LA, California.
So he really isn't coming tonight
I sighed as I put my phone down and parted Amayas hair in two to make the pigtails she wanted
" mommy , daddy not coming?" Amaya asked as I slicked her hair back
I tried to contain my eye roll but to no avail " Daddy is very busy so he probably won't come tonight. He said he'll call us tonight though if you guys are still awake okay"
Ayanna was watching me do her sisters hair sitting beside me "are you sad that daddy's not coming mama?"
" hmm just a little bit. I wanted us all to be together that's all"
She nodded like she understood then pulled her iPad out going straight to FaceTime.
I wasn't quick enough he answered on the first ring of her call " Hey baby girl. You okay?"
"Ayanna your dad is busy with an interview right now honey. Call him later" I rolled my eyes as I looked at him from the corner of my eyes he looks cute, probably styled himself today and just had his braids done ..... Hollon... Who touched his hair besides me?
I could see he was in some office I've never seen before
"Daddy mommy wants you" she handed me the iPad while she grabbed her bag of chips and started munching
"What's up princess? Everything okay?"
" you're hair ugly." I rolled my eyes as I focused on Anayas hair again
"NO! You not coming to mamas store daddy? You make mama sad so no" Amaya said as she snatched the iPad out my hand
These kids a trip I swear. I didn't have time to worry about a man not showing up for me. I gotta show my babies to show up for themselves every time.
"I'm sorry they got me booked and busy these couple days. Been trying to get away for weeks. Daddy misses you all"
I checked the time seeing I had less than an hour left until we had to leave the house to head out to the store " alright babies say bye to your dad we got to get ready."
"MAMA!" Amir came running with his dress shirt on looking upset
"Bye daddy!" Amaya and Ayanna said handing me the iPad and going to their rooms
