Jared Cockrell was born in San Diego, California and is the son of Larry and Tiffany Cockrell. Jared came to Colgate in August of 2016 and became a household name at Colgate. Jared put up six goals, 11 assists for a total of 17 points as a freshman. As a sophomore, Cockrell played in 36 games where he recorded nine goals and seven assists for a total of 16 points for the Hamiltonians in his second season on campus. Jared only played in seven games thanks to a season-ending injury but he managed a goal and two assists for a total of three points before his season ended early. Cockrell would bounce back and play in every game that Colgate played prior to the COVID shutdowns and he tallied 7 goals, 10 assists for a total of 17 points in his final season at Colgate. Majoring in economics, Cockrell graduated in May of 2020. Jared wore number 14 at Colgate for four years.
