Chapter 8: Meeting the dad

Seth's POV

(It's been a day since Laura told her bestie everything and she looked really happy about our acquaintance even though I've known her for sometime but not on the private level tho. Also it's been a while since Laura started tutoring me and truth be told I've immensly improved that even my teachers suspect that I cheat in their tests , but I've proved them wrong due to my maths teacher. Mr. Colin's our maths teacher just finished grading our test and to his utmost suprise I got an A+ then he thought I cheated so he told me to do the corrections on the board for those that failed and I did it perfectly. When I finished I got a big smile and a thumbs up from Laura and i was proud of myself as much as she was)

( Our lesson has been taking place at my house or sometimes at school if my brother Dave was having a party. Speaking of Dave I'll talk about him very soon🤫😈. So today Dave is having an after party at our place and there is also prom for my brother's set, yes they are almost done! So in a few words I'm having my lectures at her house and I'm standing at her doorway right now waiting for someone to show up I'm mostly expecting her tho)

( Laura opens the door and she is currently wearing a big pink hoodie and black trousers with her white and black sneakers. She just looks so cute)

( After entering her house I notice the sitting room soo cozy not too small and neither big

Laura: so... Welcome to my honorable abode
  ( She says smiling)
Seth: wow, I like it it's quite cozy compared to ours . So where do we have our lesson today.
( I asked looking around)
Maybe in my room , I mean , I don't know , what do you think?
( She says fast blushing)
Seth: sure your room ( I say smiling. As we were going, I heard the front door open and heavy steps coming towards the staircase where we were climbing as I looked down I was met with an angry looking man which I'm guessing to be her dad?
David: where do you think you are going to young man?
( He asks looking angry, I tried replying but ....)

Seth: well s..si...sir, sir ( I say stammering, that is unusual of me but I couldn't help it , he looked like he was going to Pounce on me any minute. As I think of what to say Laura beats me to it)

Laura: oh hey dad ( she says passing me and hugging him.) Uhnn  this is my friend Seth from school. He is here for the lesson. Remember I told you I was teaching a friend of mine . So Seth this is my dad David.

( I look at him and then he stretches his arm to shake me)

David: David Cloud, Laura's dad. You can call me David.

(He says gripping my hand with all his strength, I try not to show the pain but it's impossible even to introduce myself was not really working.)

Laura: that's enough dad ( she says like she knows her dad is inflicting me with pain through the handshake) we have to go so we can finish on time. We are going to my room okay? ( She says as she pecks his cheek)

David: okay princess and keep the door opened no funny business in there ( he says as he looks at me) see you later Seth

Seth: yes sir( i say watching his huge figure going up
    Wow I think my hand is broken ( I say wiggling my wrist and massaging my palm)

Laura: ( smiling) sorry about that just that my dad is kinda  overprotective of me and he has not really seen me bringing a boy over to the house unlike my sister. Speaking of my sister we better get started before she gets home

Seth:  okay let's start princess ( I say as I taunt her)
Laura:(smiling) hey don't call me that
Seth: really? Says the daddy's girl, honestly you are lucky to have such good parents unlike mine

Laura: you don't actually know the half of it, my dad is the only protective all my mom cares about fashion.
   ( She says looking sad)
Seth: hey don't let that change your mood( I tell her as I put my arm around her shoulder pulling her closer for a side hug, then she tenses up)

Laura: okay we are here
    ( She says as we stop by her room door)
