A siren echoes in the night
Dogs howling out their fright
Engines revving endlessly
Tossing turning hopelessly.
Was that a peep at my window?
Was that a creak at my door?
Was that my weak mind breaking?
Run!
Hide!
Cower!
It's the witching hour
Another endless hour
Another second murdered
Another leaf decayed
Another promise broken
Another heart betrayed.
Close eyes!
Don't stay awake
But mind won't give me
Peace from my mistakes.
When will daylight break away
The grasping shadows of the night?
I do recall there was a day
I loved night at first sight.
But oh she provokes me
Melatonin evokes in me
Ideals of being sleepy
But night she steals me-
Out from my hot corpse.
Hoping that she leaves me
Before she will deplete me
Or I lay in a morgue.
I won't give up so easily
But I need my sleep
I'm losing all my sanity
I can't find my escape.
Goodbye to humanity
Get back to your vape.
