THE FALL OF ALLIANZ PART 6

CHAPTER 11
James stepped onto the podium and in front of him hundreds of people gathered there. He felt the pressure of speaking in front of large rowdy crowd, but he gained courage from the fact that all the people gathered there all came for the same cause. The crowd consisted of enraged citizens, Letain mercenaries, highly and lowly ranked members of the Allianz army and finally the members of Nico’s cult, it was a crowd of people fed up with their reality.
James took a deep breath and stepped forward “I THANK YOU ALL FOR GATHERING HERE, EVERYONE HERE TOOK TIME AWAY FROM THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS TO COME HERE. YOU ALL CAME BECAUSE YOU WANT A BETTER LIFE FOR ALL YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS, YOU ALL BELIEVE WE ARE LIVING IN A NEW ERA, AN ERA IN WHICH THINGS HAVE TO BE DONE DIFFERENTLY!”
James continued to say “AS OF TODAY WE DECLARE WAR ON THE OLD REGIME IN ORDER TO GIVE BIRTH TO A NEW ONE, THE FUTURE OF THIS KINGDOM IS BRIGHT AND I’M HONORED THAT YOU ALL SEE ME FIT TO LEAD YOU INTO THIS NEW ERA, AN ERA OF DIVERSITY AND PEACE, AN ERA WHERE WE LIVE IN TRUTH AND NOT LIES, AN ERA……. AN ERA…… AN ERA WHERE PEOPLE ARE FREE TO FIGHT FOR THE REALITY THEY BELIEVE, NOT ONE THAT IS FORCED ONTO THEM!!!!!”
The crowd jeered in rejoice for the speech James gave, they were rejuvenated and motivated to press on for their beliefs. James came down from the podium and was immediately greeted by Nico who said “James I never knew you were an incredible public speaker, please give me a few tips for next time.”
James laughed at what Nico said and he replied by saying “I never prepared for my speech, I spoke from the heart, I spoke the truth and I spoke what I believe.” Nico and the niners all clapped for James whilst Ramona made her way towards James to embrace him with a hug that spoke volumes. Nico and the niners excused themselves leaving Ramona and James alone.
“James I am proud of the man you have become and I know within my heart that you are destined for greatness. I just ask that you don’t forget me in the process.” Ramona said. James pulled her in closer and held her by the waist and then he said “Ramona I can never forget you. I will never forget those who stay loyal to me and you of all people have been by my side. I’m grateful.”
Ramona giggled and replied “Nico was right, you are one with words and for that I’ll give you a reward later tonight but first I must speak with my friends so goodbye for now and get home safe. We will meet at our usual place.” James got excited and looked forward to the reward she had in mind.
As James was about to enter his carriage Nico stopped him to speak for a bit. Nico took him to a place where they would be isolated and disturbed by no one. Nico faced James and asked “James I’m glad that you are fully on board with the task at hand but I have been wondering…. You know if we succeed in the revolt and take over the kingdom we may have to execute your father, are you prepared for that?”
“Of course I’m prepared for that if it comes to it. I knew that making this decision will come at the cost of some people’s lives however it will be worth it in the end.” James replied. Nico stood silent for a short while before asking “What if we don’t succeed?”
“Then we get rid of all the evidence that we were ever involved and try again. Also I don’t like to look at the negative, I believe nothing can go wrong for we are prepared for it all.” James confidently said. Nico chuckled at what James uttered and he replied “Wow! I truly have to ask, what brought about this change in personality? When you were younger you were never one to go against your father but look at you now, you plan on killing him and taking his throne by force.”
James starred into the distance and replied “I’ve always been like this it’s just that I have been suppressing my urges……. It was always like that until I met a certain Letain man, he gave me the little push I needed to fight for my dreams. The way that man spoke, his demeanor, in fact his whole presence left me in awe. I hope to one day see him again after I achieve my goals.”
Nico nodded his head and said “one day I too wish to meet this man you speak so highly of and I hope it will be a decent encounter.” James agreed and decided to be on his way. As he left the estate he reminisced about his life and wondered if his mother was still alive would he have made the same choices? However it was too late to think of that now for only a few days remained until the day of reckoning. 
Meanwhile at the castle, a guard hurried from the dungeons in desperation as he ran to the king’s throne room. He hurried up the stairs and through the corridors not minding the people who were in his way, Maximus was walking out of the throne room when he met this man. Maximus looked at him and asked “Charlie you look stressed, more than usual. What’s wrong?”
Charlie tried to catch his breath before saying “Ve-ve-VERONICA HAS DISAPPEARED! We searched everywhere for her but she just disappeared, her guards were found knocked unconscious and no one saw anything!” Maximus immediately ordered him to form a search party to comb the city, Charlie left and Maximus immediately went to inform the king. When he opened the door he saw the king standing by his balcony staring into the distance and the king said one thing “I heard everything. What in the world is happening to our kingdom?”
By the time the search party was formed Veronica’s rescuers managed to sneak her out of the city using an old wagon and horse as she hid in the back two men sat in the front. She didn’t bother to ask where they were going she just decided to put all her trust in James. In her heart she said goodbye to her city hoping to return safely one day, if only she knew of the blood bathe that was about to take in her precious city.
