look who gets chapter 69. ;)

Katelyn and Travis had always been one of those compatible couples. Despite their friendship getting off to a rough start, as friends they sailed through until they discovered a real relationship emerging between them.

Think about it, a girl with a fiery and stubborn personality, who fell for a flirty Casanova who knew every trick in the playbook. Surely an impossible situation, right?

Well, just as Zane was, Travis was determined to propose to the love of his life before the end of the summer. He had no doubts about it, he loved her, and she loved him. Although every time Travis was about to do it, he weaselled out immediately.

He had considered turning to Aaron and Zane, who'd successfully proposed to their girlfriends, but he knew, he knew that they would tell their partners.

Plus, Katelyn would get eerily suspicious and he didn't want to wreck the surprise for her. He was scared, terrified even, what if she would say no? What would he do then?

For years he'd kept his eye on her, somehow knowing she was the one of him. It had just made sense, yet, he didn't know why.

About a week after Zane and Becca's birthday, Travis had suggested another party in the same place where they'd hosted the twins' thirtieth. The only one that Travis had confided with for the engagement was Cadenza, he didn't know why he'd chosen her, but it was a start. The girl had suggested such simple orientations than he'd initially thought about. He was overthinking it all. All you had to do was drop onto a knee, pull out a ring and ask a question.

Travis wanted the engagement to have a shocking element of surprise and Cadenza confirmed that most of them wouldn't even suspect a thing.

The night of the party, there were endless glorious arrays of glistening constellations above them all. The Shadow Knights and the parents were invited to the party. Even if the party had no reason for a celebration, it was a party, who'd say no to that? You don't need a good excuse to have a simple party every so often.

The day before, Travis had spoken with Eric in person, making sure he had permission to wed his daughter. Of course, Eric accepted and he wouldn't have chosen any other man to marry his daughter. For that, Travis was grateful.

At a quarter past nine, the party was thriving with happiness and calmness all around them, there couldn't have been anything to drag it down. Fairy lights and streamers were hung and an explicit buffet was presented forward.

Katelyn had been staring up at the stars with Travis' arms wrapped around her waist, his head following her gaze. August 12th. He'd have to remember that date.

"Hey Kate, a shooting star," Travis pointed out, removing his right hand from her waist and pointing it up to the sky, trailing it with his index finger. "Don't you know that you can make a wish when you see them pass?"

Katelyn tilted her head. "I knew that. And for your information, your shooting stars are bits of debris or asteroids that burn against the Earth's atmosphere," she speculated.

"What are you an astrophysicist these days? I can see the news girl is coming to play, isn't she?" Katelyn only glared at him. Travis sighed, "Just make a wish."

Katelyn thought for a second and closed her eyes, making the wish. When she reopened them, Travis was no longer behind us, no longer holding her, keeping her occupied.

For a second she panicked, glancing around to find him, but stopped when she felt a faint Tao on her forearm.

Katelyn turned to find Travis waiting behind her on one knee, with a ring out. The girl gasped, covered her gaping mouth with her hands and backed into the balcony. Immediately everyone's attention was reeled into the couple.

Travis couldn't hold back a smile. Katelyn was beginning to cry, which is something she didn't do often. If you knew this girl, she wasn't the emotional type. But, seeing the love of her life proposing in front of her was simply shocking, even with the smirk that rose from his lips, which made her cry even harder. He hadn't even begun talking yet. And somehow, he'd made the girl begin to break down in front of him.

"Katelyn, you're the most extraordinary girl, that I've ever known. You're funny, stubborn and have the best personality that I can't even begin to underestimate. I've had my eye on the girl who changed my entire life for years and I can't imagine being without you for a single second. I love you, Katelyn, and I want to tie the knot properly. Kate, will you marry me?"

"Yeah, of course, I'll marry you, I love you so much," she said after a moment. She ran into Travis' arms as he stood up and kissed him. Travis off the kiss and slid the ring onto the fourth finger of her left hand. They kissed again and collapsed into a tight hug where he buried his face into her blue waves.

Their friends and family cheered in congratulations. Cadenza was filming. Dante reluctantly handed a fifty-dollar note to Aphmau who was screaming in sheet happiness with Nana and Remmi, who'd been waiting for years.

Laurance began dropping to one knee, but Lucinda slapped him and he got back up again.

"Well, who's next?" Aphmau called out.

Eyebrows were lifted at various young couples who were still dating but nowhere close to tying the knot. Katelyn shot a look at her younger brother and Remmi. Zane glared at Garroth and Kim with his arms crossed. Cadenza eyes Laurance and Lucinda.

"So, when's the wedding?"
