"Banning plastic bags and packaging: Yes or No?"
"I do believe plastic bags should be banned. We all know how these plastics cause our environment. Huge number of undisciplined humans are careless of every single plastic they throw."
"Sorry, but I do believe that plastics shouldn't be banned. Yes, the amount of garbage it brings to the environment is enormous. That's why we have this waste management called 3'rs. Reuse > Reduce > Recycle. We can recycle all the plastics we have in the entire world and create it into much more useful than plastics itself."
"But isn't it less work if we ban plastics? There would be no much work, plus it saves time and the environment."
"But isn't it plastic bag that helps you when you buys goodies that are not applicable for eco bags and paper bags?"
That's how our first encounter went.
He was a transfer student. The first time we met, I knew he would be my academic rival. He was from a different section but during batch/subject debates, that's were we usually have interactions.
"Nat!" sigaw ni Seven sa malayo. "Grabe ka talaga. Tinatalo mo kahit transfer student."
"Basic!" I bowed down to Seven.
"You did great."
Nilingon ko ito.
"You did too. Congrats." I smiled.
"Congrats din. By the way, I'm Yori." he offered me a handshake. "You are?"
"Estella" I gave him my hand.
"See you around." he winked at me.
"Uyyyy I saw that." Lai suddenly appeared.
"Ako din nakita ko!!" sigaw naman ni Seven sabay akbay kay Lai.
Why the hell would he wink at me? Are we even close? I shouldn't have given him my name.
Nag aaya si Seven sa bagong unli wings sa tapat ng school after class.
I went back to my classroom. This year kasi, nahiwalay ako kay Seven at Lai. Sila yung classmates.
"Sit down everyone." our class adviser entered.
"I received a memo regarding this year's student council. Open na po ulit ang slots for ssg runners in different positions."
Lahat nang kaklase ko pinipilit na ako mag Vice President.
"Ma'am may possible candidates na po ba for higher positions?" I asked.
"Uhm, I heard earlier sa faculty. The new student will run."
What? Si Yori? OMG. Why did I mentioned him?
After class I went straight to Seven and Lai's classroom. Hindi pa sila tapos nung silipin ko. I just left them a message that I will be staying muna at the library.
I was looking for a specific book. When I found it, a guy took it out. It's Yori! I didn't bother asking the book anymore. I took out different book.
To my shock, I saw Yori reading a pile of books side him.
I sat adjacent to him, four tables from his. I was trying to focus on my own book but his presence really bothers me. I can't stop looking at him.
"Huy baka matunaw" a voice whispered in my ear.
"Ano ba muntik na akong sumigaw" hampas ko kay Seven.
Binalik ko muna ang librong binasa ko. Actually, hindi ko pala siya nabasa. Binuksan ko lang.
