"It's funny... we never actually had a night to ourselves..."

Even further.

"We never explored each other's bodies and we've been together 3 years..."

His kisses wandered to places they've never been before.

"Ajax..."

"Yeah?"

This was new.

You and him looked at each other, eyes glowing in the rays of the moon.

Your hand was tightly gripping a tuft of his hair, copper threads escaping from between your fingers like grass growing from concrete.

It loosened.

"I don't know. I'm scared."

"I won't do anything you don't want me to do."

He had only gone as far as your stomach, and he kissed a spot right above your belly button softly, not with the same desire as before.

A reassuring gesture.

You took a deep breath and nodded.

"Do it."

"I won't go easy. I'll handle you just like I handle the Harbingers' temper."

"Harshly?"

"And with pizzazz."

You had a blissful night from there, lasting way up until Ajax fell asleep on your chest out of exhaustion, the sunrise making his skin glow.

⛔️

...

You woke up to screaming.

"Great..." you say, turning in bed and thumping against the pillow.

"Ajax, go see if Sharkur burned down the kitchen again..."

But Ajax wasn't there on the bed when you tried to nudge him with your foot.

"Ajax?"

You sat up, looking for him.

You pull on a pair of shorts and a vest and exit your bedroom.

"Hello?!" You called.

You run to the main area of the quarters, where you see Sharkur bashing a game of Scrabble on Ajax's head.

"Ow!" he screamed, as small square pieces with various letters inscribed on it littered the floor,

The line between subordinate and superior has certainly blurred between these two.

"What's going on?" you inquired, rubbing at your eyes once you realised that nobody is actually dying.

"Sharkur said 'Tartagalicious' wasn't a word."

"Well that's because it isn't-!"

"That isn't a word, Ajax."

"But it's in the dictionary!" he shouted indignantly.

In his hand was a small, thick book.

"Number one, that's not an English dictionary. Number two, you wrote it on a blank page that's not even in the T section."

You sighed as Sharkur only groaned.

"Anyway, it surprises me how you two found the energy to wake up at 7 in the morning and play Scrabble. Especially you, Ajax, seeing how tired you were last night from all the-"

"Okay, okay! I'll go make breakfast now, you and Sharkur can have a go-!"

He quickly got up and left, face bright red, marching to the kitchen and mindlessly putting whatever comes into his hand into the bowl.
