His words brought an immediate coldness inside of Taehyun and he stiffened, feeling oppressed with a pitiless assault of inexplicit embarrassment. He averted his gaze nervously and muttered something unintelligible under his breath, making Yeonjun furrow his brows in confusion, "Excuse me?" He insisted, confused as he tried to figure out what Taehyun had said.
"I'm going to sleep," Taehyun muttered sulkily and rose to his feet, wanting to walk away from that embarrassing situation as soon as possible, however, Yeonjun was quick to stand up and catch his wrist to prevent him from doing so.
"You're not going anywhere until I get my answer," he said firmly, but a hint of amusement was still there dancing in his eyes as if the situation was totally appealing to him, causing Taehyun to scowl and glare at Yeonjun with an irritated look which beheld so many secrets behind them.
"Aren't I supposed to be jealous?!" He raised his voice in frustration which took Yeonjun off his guard, causing his grip on the younger's wrist to loosen slightly and allow him to easily slip his hand away. "Whether any of us like it or not, I'm still your fiancé and obviously don't like to be cheated on! How can you not see that?!"
Yeonjun's mouth parted slightly and his eyes widened in surprise upon hearing that statement, his fingers twitching at the mention of engagement. He couldn't lie, Taehyun's words did something to his heart as well, making it pound uncontrollably against his ribcage as he tried to control his own emotions and not show the obvious reaction he was having. The sudden urge that came over him to kiss Taehyun was enough to make him weak in the knees; it was a strange yet thrilling sensation that left him breathless, but he couldn't move an inch.
Remembering how Taehyun broke his heart two years ago, Yeonjun felt his excitement and fluster getting replaced by unease, fear, and anger. His eyes turned cold again and he swallowed hard before saying in a very cold voice, "Do you think I'm really going to marry you?" He asked while narrowing his eyes, and he had to admit that he felt some satisfaction at the sight of hurt hidden behind Taehyun's facade.
Yeonjun couldn't help but want to break him like Taehyun had done to him, but at the same time, he loved the boy too much to bear the idea of hurting him. No matter how much resentment he held in his heart, Taehyun was still the boy Yeonjun had grown up with and even after spending years without meeting him, Taehyun still remained a part of his heart and it never died nor faded away. He was still the part of his soul and if Taehyun was hurting, it meant that Yeonjun was hurting too.
"No, I don't," Taehyun replied while trying to suppress all the emotions that were currently boiling up inside him, refusing to let the truth come out to the world, "But I don't want you to go around fucking other people while you are called my fiancé!"
Yeonjun let his words sink into his mind and watched as a pained look spread across the younger's beautiful face, however, Yeonjun didn't let it affect him. Instead, he let a vague irony seep into his eyes with a mocking smile as he took a step closer to the smaller one, causing him to take one back, "You are right," he said and nodded, feeling bitterness spread through him at Taehyun's demand. The boy didn't have the right to be upset at him but he still was and it made Yeonjun feel extremely annoyed. "Maybe I should fuck you instead — "
He was cut off mid-sentence when Taehyun's palm suddenly collided with his cheek, sending a shock wave all the way from his jaw to his ear. He snapped his eyes to the silver-haired boy only to see him storming out of the living room in a panic, slamming the door so loudly behind him that Yeonjun was able to hear it downstairs.
Yeonjun swallowed thickly and rubbed his stinging cheek with a sigh, suddenly remembering their first kiss which also ended with a sudden harsh slap. He had an internal conflict in his mind, not knowing what to do as his body went through different emotions at once. Anger, guilt, and disappointment flooded inside his chest like a tide which created a tight knot of tension within him.
