Yeonjun furrowed his brows at that, remembering the most famous case which was widely talked about a few years ago, though he didn't remember the details. Yeonjun had no idea what it could have to do with Beomgyu, but he was really interested in whatever his friend was telling him.
"Most people prefer staying away from him not only because of these rumors, but also because Beomgyu is a famous heartbreaker. He enrolled in our university last year but managed to break plenty of hearts. He would dump people after fucking them, only to end up dating another person."
At first, Yeonjun couldn't believe his ears but Bang Chan wasn't done yet.
"One guy, who graduated from our university this year, always insisted that Beomgyu was his cousin. He's the one who spread the rumors about him being a psycho. He even says that Beomgyu changed his appearance and identity and wears contacts to cover the true color of his eyes, so no one would manage to find him after his escape from the mental hospital," he paused briefly and took another sip of his coffee, looking completely careless, unlike Yeonjun who was in deep thought, still trying to process it all.
Was he hearing it right? Beomgyu was a murderer who had killed his own father? And he also used people for sex? Was this some kind of joke?
Oh, God... He had slept with a monster without knowing it.
Yeonjun was shaking his head in disbelief even though his body was frozen in place. He tried to calm down and tell himself to keep cool but the only thing he felt was a weird pain piercing his chest and spreading through every part of his body. He didn't know why he was feeling hurt... maybe it was a disappointment? Disgust? Or annoyance? Maybe all three...?
"You guys knew this?" He asked the rest of his friends who couldn't even make eye contact with him anymore as they just nodded their heads slowly, avoiding Yeonjun's gaze.
"You looked too confident about him," Jungkook finally uttered, raising his head to fix his guilty eyes on his friend, "We just wanted you to give it a try... Those rumors might not even be true."
Yeonjun was pissed off when he returned home that evening. Just who did Beomgyu think he was? This morning Beomgyu made him think that he had taken advantage of a drunk person, and Yeonjun felt bad but for what? He would feed everyone lies and give them hope, then lure them into bed and leave them heartbroken behind after using them for sexual gratification and fun. What kind of a monster was he?
Yeonjun knew what being a victim of heartbreak was and anger was pouring through him when he was thinking about the fact that Beomgyu was far worse than Taehyun.
He was mad.
"Oh, I thought you wouldn't come back," Taehyun said in a blank voice when Yeonjun entered the living room and plopped himself down on the armchair.
Yeonjun rolled his eyes, not really having the energy for arguing with the boy, "Where else would I go?" He responded sarcastically before resting his elbows on the armrests and leaning back against the armchair tiredly.
Taehyun looked at Yeonjun with raised eyebrows, his expression showing nothing but annoyance and coldness which made Yeonjun wonder if his face was always so hard or if it was just reserved for him specifically. "Well, you should know it better since you were the one that was absent last night."
Yeonjun's expression morphed into a frown almost immediately upon hearing his words, overshadowed by the satisfying realization that started to slowly dawn upon him and caused contentment to seep into his features, "Wait... that's the reason why you've been moody since yesterday..?" He questioned surprisingly as if even he himself couldn't believe his own words, "Are you jealous by any chance?"
