"Hi Mama!" I say excitedly as my mom picks up the phone.

"Hi Sunshine."

"Whatcha been doing today?" I ask, messing with my nail.

"Well, I spent basically the whole day with a sheep in labor." She says and I chuckle.

"How many did she have?"

"Two... One didn't make it."

"Aww. The mama probably has no clue. Sheep are the dumbest things out there." I say, looking out my window.

"Ain't that the truth." She says as we both chuckle.

"Anyways, what's going on with you? You seemed off when we talked last night." She questions.

Mama knows best.

"That's actually why I'm calling you. Is daddy there?" I ask, rolling over onto my stomach.

"Yeah, give me a second."

"Okay." I say, propping myself up on my elbows.

"Okay, we're both here."

"Hi Sunny." My dad says, his Minnesota accent coming through the phone.

"Hi Daddy!" I say.

"Whats going on, honey?"

I take a deep breath, my heart beating faster than my horse, Lorelai, runs at full speed.

"It's about Vivi... and Ethan." I say quietly.

"Vivi? Like, your cousin? My niece?" My dad asks, dragging out and emphasizing the 'O' in "your", due to his accent.

"Yes..." I hesitantly say.

"What does she have to do with Ethan?" My mom questions.

"Um.. They.." My breath hitches. "They're having an affair." I choke out, tears forming in my eyes.

"What?!" My dad yells.

"I think I need to sit down." My mom adds.

"My 18 year old niece? Is sleeping, with your husband?!"

"Yes..." I say, looking down at my hands.

"Okay... How do you know?" My mom asks.

"I'd had my suspicions he was cheating. Then I saw a picture on Vivi's private Snapchat story. Apparently, she forgot I was on there."

"Okay... What's a private story?" My mom asks as I snort.

I quickly explain it to them the best I could.
