Edith awoke to the sun peaking through her windows, and to her surprise she felt an empty spot beside her. No arms holding on tight to her.

She stood up and looked around the room, holding buttercup close to her, she went to the closet and crawled through the door. Hoping to find Cecily.

She let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding when she saw Cecily sprawled out on the bed.

She was going to shake her awake but stopped her hand. She wasn't sure if she should wake her up, Cecily always complained about wanting to sleep more.

That's when an idea came to Edith, she crawled back to her closet and found some sweat pants to put over her onesie and slid on her bunny slippers.

She opened the door to her room with a lot of force, coming out she was surprised by to Max and AJ being startled. Their eyes wide as if they were seeing a ghost.

"Uhhh," Edith said looking between them, "morning."

They both bowed their heads, "morning."

"Don't bow," Edith cringed, "you didn't bow before."

Max smiled at her sweet tone, "your the princess now, it's protocol."

"Hold up, what?" Edith said wide eyed.

"You instantly became the princess when the queen adopted you." AJ explained as it was obvious.

Edith blinked processing his words, "alright... don't do that bow thing, please." She walked away down the stairs Cecily had taken her to the kitchen.

Feeling a presence behind her Edith glanced back, Max was following her.

"It's protocol," Max told her catching up, "where you going?"

"Kitchen," Edith said hooping down the last step.

"Would you like me to request your breakfast?" Max asked.

"No thank you, I'm sure I can manage." Edith opened the door, startling the kitchen stuff.

A man in a white jacket, slim face and ruff bear walked up to Edith and bowed, the rest followed.

"Princess what may I be of service?" He asked in a thick French accent.

Edith sight softly, "you can call me Edith, and no bow please."

They all stood up and looked at her confused, they hard heard of the queens little that had soften her heart.

But a part of them expected someone more harsh to stand Cecily's fearful attitude.

Not someone small and quaint, with a sweet voice of honey.

"Whatever you say, Edith" he answered with a smile.

Making Edith smile, she stuck her hand out, "well you know I'm Edith but I don't know who you are."

The chef knelled down to Edith's height, and shook her hand.

"I'm Jacques,I'm the head chef. What brings you to my kitchen?"

"I wanted to make Cecily breakfast, she likes to sleep in so I don't want to bug her."

"Ah yes, waking a beast from their sleep is rather a hard task but have the way to their heart eases the wake."

"Way to their heart?"

"Yes, Edith way to their heart. Food!" He said standing up. Edith couldn't help but giggle at his enthusiasm. "So you'll be my sous-chef?"

"Su-chef. What is that?"
