Ruby POV

Teacher: ruby

R: h-huh? yes sir?

T: i asked if you could please come up and answer the question on the board

R: m-me sir?

T: yes, as it would seem you don't need to pay attention in class, you MUST be able to solve this then i assume?

R: *gulp*

                           Okay ruby think, on one hand we have say "no sir" and probably get punished and embarrassed, on the other we have try my luck and get punished anyway

R: um w-well-

T: up here if you please

                          I walk up to the board and grab the marker... oh God, i uh... i don't know any of this-

T: well?

R: i... u-uh-

?: *whispers* forty two

                       I don't question it and wrote it down

T: good... now how did you get that answer

R: *whisper* fuck... i um... *sigh* i don't know sir

T: ... looks like someone will be staying after class-

V: no sir, you don't have to do that

T: violet?

V: i-it was me, i told her the answer, i was just refreshing their memory... they're just a little rusty on math from the weekend

T: they always are

V: w-well i promise sir... you don't need to keep them in detention... again                     

T: hm very well... but ruby, next time i call you up i expect you to be able to answer

R: y-yes sir

                                  I sit back down and put my hood up... it's not like i don't try, the numbers and letters just kinda mix up, there's too much going on... no one's ever done that for me before tho

T: ruby. vi. you two stay after class a little bit

                                 Oh God now what?

T: ruby... i would like you to take into consideration having violet tutor you 

R: what? why?

T: violet is one of the best in this class, she also volunteered 

                               She... volunteered so help me study? by choice? there's no way...

V: so? where do you want to study?

R: ...

V: not very talkative... what's okay, i mean i noticed that... how about my house? it should be much quieter, all my siblings go to clubs

R: y-you don't?

V: nope... i'm alone a lot of the time at home, probably why i stick my head in books a lot 

                                Well that's one thing in common... allie goes to clubs, i'm normally home alone. I don't study as much though... there's no point really
