Bethany was watching 'Barbie' in the living room alone, when Jennifer approached her, she wasn't helping out in the shop today,
Jennifer stood a distance away
"Bethany darling"
"Yes Mom" Bethany replies, not even bothering to look in her direction, eyes glued to the TV
Jennifer didn't want to beat around the bush, so she said in a swift short sentence
" Angel's dead"
Bethany paused the TV, slowly turning her head in her mother's direction in disbelief
Voice void of emotion, she asks
"Since when?"
Jennifer's scared and shrunken voice replies
" 6 months ago"
"Why didn't you tell me?, I could have at least visited her grave or been with her till her last breath..."
"Tell you? Yeah right, with how obsessed you were with her, how could I bring myself to tell you......"
Jennifer knew about their relationship.
Bethany turns her head to the TV, appearing to be uncaring
"Ok, such is life, people die everyday, now if you'll excuse me, I have a show to finish"
"Ok, I won't disturb you then"
Jennifer leaves Bethany, thinking on her way
'that went better than expected, good thing she has gotten over her'
As soon as Jennifer leaves, Bethany slowly pauses the TV, and looks down, her eyelids heavy but not with tears
"Dead?, I don't believe it, how... Why did you leave me, Angel?...... You said you would be mine, you agreed to be with me forever but now you go ahead and leave me behind, hope you're happy there, hope you haven't forgotten about me..... "
Bethany Forces and Forces but she made a major discovery; She can't cry.... This also happened when she found out that her close cousin, who she hasn't seen in years, was dead. She also couldn't cry, so she brushed it off with a ' it's because I haven't seen her in a long time' excuse. But even with Angel? Why..... Why can't she cry?.........
