I was never afraid of the dark. No matter how many horror movies I've watched or how many stories I've heard of the bogeyman or ghouls lurking in the dark, waiting to drag me into the greatest depths of fear. It never bothered me as much as I thought it should. I quite often wondered why I didn't mind the dark at all.
Growing up made me realise that all the monsters I am supposed to be afraid of aren't in the dark at all. They're right here in the light, hiding in plain sight.
