chapter six

i was heading to the cafeteria to purchase lunch when i heard a commotion.

i didn't even stop to look what was happening because i didn't care.

marsha saw me and she told the lunch ladies to prepare my usual. i paid her as i made me way to the front of the line. the students stepped back and i waited for my change. smiling politely, i moved down to the last section and waited patiently for my lunch.

"you're with this lame bitch? you should be with someone like us, darling. top notch and hot." jenna redhill. her voice was the loudest in the cafeteria and i scrunched up my nose at her annoying voice.

what seems to be her problem now?

i looked over at where she was standing and saw her at the table where harley and skylar was sitting down.

i frowned.

"she's not a bitch," even tho her voice was soft, i managed to hear what she responded with the lack of noise in the area, everybody listening.

my lunch wasn't ready as yet so i had some time to spear to actually give this child a piece of my mind. bullying was not tolerated at brooklyn's academy.

i walked over to where jenna was and skylar and i held eye contact. her lashes fluttered as the innocence radiated off of her.

"what seems to be the problem here?" i asked.

jenna turned to me, "oh, miss espinoza!" she gave me a fake smile and i looked at her unamused, "im just greeting the new girl."

i scoffed softly, "that's not what it sounded like. meet me in my office."

"but i am yet to eat lunch."

i wanted nothing more than to hit her upside the head but i had to remember that i am at school and i cannot put my hands on the pupils.

"yet you find time to pick on students? don't let me get there before you." i hissed and she took off in the direction of my office.

i looked at the two girls and harley gave me a grateful look. i gave her a small nod and went to collect my lunch and went to my office.

"so tell me, why were you picking on two innocent students?"

"i wasn't, miss. i was just-"

"greeting the new girl with rudeness." i cut her off. i placed my fork down and folded my fingers, "detention for a week and just so you know, this is going to the principal."

"miss espinoza, please-"

"shut it." i snapped, "leave."

"don't tell mr. loyal, please, miss."

"what? don't want daddy dearest to know about your little... troubles?"

her eyes widened and i gave her a smirk.

mr. loyal was screwing her mom. turns out no one knows - except my nosy ass.

"leave those girls alone and i won't tell." i shrugged and continued eating.

"okay! just don't inform him, miss espinoza."

i smiled.

sometimes i love my job.
