She stopped her steps and stayed there looking at the building; that day had finally and unfortunately come. How many things had changed during those five years, how life had quickly evolved, and how they became new versions of themself. Life had definitely changed and with it, the people that surrounded her and all she'd had the strength to do at that time was just accepting it.
She looked at her phone: 9.30 a.m, the beginning of the end, she thought. She sighed and finally walked in, she looked around not being sure of where she exactly had to go. She approached the front desk and asked for information, she thanked and started walking toward the elevator.
As the doors closed she couldn't help but start feeling more anxious than ever. Was it the right choice? That was what the three wanted, but why was it hurting so much? Why was she feeling that heavy weight on her chest even if they were all okay with it? Why was the idea of the whole world knowing utterly scaring her?
When the elevator stopped on the floor where the lawyer's offices were, she walked to the secretary and smiled.
"Good morning Mrs. Edwards Chamberlain. Today Mr. Jones is a little bit late, I'll walk you to the waiting room, Mrs. Pinnock-Gray is already there".
Perrie just nodded and slightly smiled trying not to give away how she was actually feeling. Why on earth did Mr. Jones give them the appointment for the same time? He was totally aware of the situation, it was the reason they needed him.
And there she was, looking at her phone, probably texting someone and smiling at their reply. When she heard the steps she looked up and as soon as their gaze met she froze. It was clear that Leigh-Anne was hoping to be the only one there too.
After a few seconds, the older girl decided to look back at her phone and resumed texting.
Perrie couldn't help but decide to sit as far as possible from her. Yes, it was unbelievable how things had changed, how they became this new version of themselves that couldn't even stand being in the same place. Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards in the same room avoiding each other, sometimes life definitely changes.
Perrie looked at the white wall, thinking: maybe that was her last chance, maybe the fact that Leigh was there was a sign. But god how scared she was, how uncomfortable she felt. Nevertheless, she had to do it, no matter how terrifying it was. Who knew when they would have been in the same room again.
She sighed and looked at her, finding the courage to speak. What could she lose, she asked herself. They had already lost what they had, nothing could get worse than that.
She sighed again and finally found the strength to pronounce those words.
"How are the twins?" She asked and smiled when Leigh looked up.
The afro-haired girl looked at her with a confused expression, Perrie didn't know whether it was the surprise, the unease of the situation, or just the anger. She just looked at her for a few seconds and then finally opened her mouth.
"They are good, they are growing so fast" she replied still looking at her, and Perrie couldn't help but smile again.
"What about Ax-"
"Mrs. Thirlwall you can wait here" they could hear the voice of the secretary instructing.
And there she was, more beautiful than ever. She looked more mature and confident, but those sweet eyes totally belonged to the Jade they knew.
But then She looked at them with a serious expression; Perrie could immediately recognize the same expression that Leigh had assumed before, but this time there was much more anger. That gaze was so cold; it wasn't the first time Perrie had seen it, it wasn't even the first time it was directed at her, but it still hurt like the first time, it still had the power to affect her.
Now things definitely got more complicated, Perrie thought still looking at her former friend. Yes, life definitely got more complicated, she reflected.

Hi everyone!
I'm back with a new story and I'm really enjoying writing it so far.
This is just the beginning and so many things will happen...
What do you think about it so far? Please vote and please comment, I'm super interested in what you think ❤️
This chapter is the shortest one, the others will be longer; but I would like to know whether you prefer longer chapters (like in "Nothing comes between us") and less frequent updates or shorter chapters but updated more often.
Also, should I put Instagram posts and group chat messages in this story too?
As always thank you for taking the time to read,
Anna ❤️
