We begin this chapter moments after the last one, with Y/n and Ashley splitting off from Shepard and Kaidan as they began their search for either Harkin, the disgraced C-Sec officer, or Garrus Vakarian, the Turian C-Sec officer in charge of investigating Saren. Y/n and Ashley choosing to search for Harkin in Chora's Den, a shady bar located within the Wards upon the Citadel.

The Wards serve as the residential district within the Citadel, and is best known as a self-contained city that was home to millions. In order to get to the Wards in the first place, Y/n and Ashley had to go through the Presidium and go down to a lower level where they reached an elevator that would take them there as they both stood next to each other while a news broadcast was heard from the speakers

News: "In light of the recent attack on Eden Prime, many colonial investors are pulling their support for future projects. Proponents of expanded human colonization insist that Eden Prime was an isolated case. Nevertheless, colonist enrollment has dropped sharply. Many colonial proposals are on hold until backers have some reassurance that human colonies will be adequately protected"

Y/n: "I don't blame the colonists for being scared, after what happened on Eden Prime, anyone living that far out would be scared thinking they'd be next"

Ashley: "But that won't happen, once we get the evidence, this will all be over"

Y/n: "I hope so"

The elevator then came to a stop and opened in a hallway where they were then met with a Salarian with grey skin and wearing black armor with two yellow stripes going down the torso, a look of pleasant surprise on his face

Salarian: "Ah, Y/n L/n vas Moreh, correct?"

Y/n: "Yes, that's me, can I help you?"

Salarian: "Jondum Bau, Citadel Spectre, the council has asked me to install a monitoring device on your Omni-Tool, it will take just a moment"

Y/n: "Sure, go right ahead, holding his arm out forwards, Y/n's Omni-Tool appeared on his robotic arm while Jondum did the same with his normal arm, the two devices lighting up and various menus appearing as they pressed different buttons before eventually stopping

Jondum: "There we go, all done. Thank you for your time, good luck in the investigation"

With that, Jondum Bau took their place on the elevator while Y/n and Ashley got off, entering into a hallway that led them past multiple civilians and into another Elevator that took them down to another hallway, this time with a door at the far end and another to the right that was currently locked. Stepping off the elevator, they took the door at the far end of the corridor, leading them to the an observation area before looking to the right and towards a door that would lead to the market

Y/n: "This should get us there-"

Ashley: "I know, you don't need to tell me, sir"

Y/n: "O-Oh...sorry, I forgot you've probably been on the Citadel longer than I have"

Y/n chuckled with slight embarrassment before they made their way through the market and down a flight of stairs to the lower wards, neither of them noticing the figure in purple going up the stairs to their right that was bathed in red light

Y/n: "You know, I've never actually been to Chora's Den before"

Ashley: "You're not missing much"

Y/n: "You've been there before?"

Ashley: "A couple times, with my squad that is. Otherwise, I tend to stay away from that place"
