Follow our protagonists through what started as a simple covert op to retrieve an ancient device, quickly turns into a race to prevent the return of an Ancient Race set on destroying all organic life in the universe
We begin this chapter with the team sent down to retrieve the beacon as they leave the dig site and walk up the hill towards a research camp that had been razed to the ground, large spikes with what looked to be corpses impaled on the tips of them
Ashley: "Looks like they hit the camp hard"
Y/n: "Poor bastards"
Kaiden: "It's a good place for an ambush. Keep your guard up"
As they stepped further into the camp, they were then caught by surprise as the spikes lowered and the corpses pried themselves off, revealing they had been completely altered, they still had a humanoid body shape, but their skin was now a deep blue with synthetic components exposed as they groaned, acting like a zombie

Kaiden: "Oh, god! They're still alive!"
Ashley: "What did the Geth do to them?!"
As they got off the spikes, They spotted our team and began to run in their direction with the intent to kill before being fired upon as Shepard, Kaiden, Ashley, and Y/n began to clear the camp of the monstrosities
S.I: "Your tax dollars at work"
Once the camp was finally cleared, they began to move through, checking for any survivors that might've escaped capture as Y/n and Ashley were paired together for their search while Shepard and Kaiden went together, the first to speak between the two was Ashley who sighed as she looked around the place, seeing the ruined remains of the camp
Ashley: "It used to be beautiful here"
Y/n: "It's a shame this happened, I was planning on taking a trip here next time I was on leave"
Ashley: "I'm sure you would've liked it here, I know the rest of the squad did"
Y/n: "I'm sorry for your loss, Williams, I'm sure they were great soldiers"
Ashley: "They were, thank you Helljumper"
After Ashley finished speaking, they heard muffled voices coming from a nearby building, causing them to raise their weapons in case they were hostile. Since Shepard and Kaiden were nearby, they saw the two raise their weapons and approached with their weapons raised too
With the four of them there, Y/n was the first to approach the door to the building and lowered his weapon before raising his robotic arm towards the door and a glowing device appeared on it, this device was known as an Omni-Tool. Omni-tools are multipurpose diagnostic and manufacturing tools as well as computers used for a variety of civilian and battlefield tasks, such as hacking, decryption, or repair. Higher-end omni-tools are equipped by Engineers, Sentinels, and Infiltrators to make use of their tech talents and powers. When activated, an omni-tool can appear over either of a person's forearms or hands, and occasionally both, as an orange hologram.
