Stone fell from my heart. If something happened to him...

"Forgive me for disturbing you. " Said a familiar voice that interrupted my thoughts. We turned to face him and saw Fili. "But have you seen Thorin somewhere?" He asked at which I froze.

Kili and I exchanged anxious glances and after a while we ran after Fili in search of the Oak Shield.

"Thorin!! " We shouted one by one, but there was no answer.

I looked at Kili with tears in my eyes.

"Don't worry..." He came closer and wiped my tears. "We'll find him."

"And what if..." I started, but Fili interrupted me.

"I found him! " He shouted. "Come on, quick! There he is!" We ran after blond man.

We were standing on a hill, and below you could see Thorin fighting Azog in the river that was frozen in ice. Orc pushed dwarf as he slipped and fell. Azog swung the sword that had pierced his left hand at him. Thorin braked the blow with his sword, but it was barely able to, because the creature strengthened the thrust every moment.

I couldn't stand there and look at it all. I drew my bow and reached for the arrow, but at that moment I froze. I have one last arrow left if I miss...

"Lia, you can do it. " Kili said, clearly noticing my nervousness. "Calm down. " Added.

"How am I supposed to be calm? If I miss Thorin will... "

"You've got it. " Fili assured me. "You're one of the best female archers. You took lessons from the master himself. " Fili patted his brother on the shoulder. "You can do it. " Added.

I took a deep breath and drew the arrow over the bowstring. I could see that Thorin had no more strength to stop the blow any longer. My hands were shaking and I couldn't take a good shot.

"Lia..." Kili walked over to me. "Inhale..." He said and I did what he asked. "And exhale..." I breathed, but my hands were still shaking.

Kili stepped closer and grabbed my hands. He positioned them according to the shot and whispered.

"I believe in you... "

I glanced at him, then back to Thorin. Azog has almost won. No, I couldn't let him do that. I lost one father, I cannot lose the other.

"Now. " Brothers said at the same time and I let go of the arrow.

It glided towards Azog and hit him in the leg. Orc screamed in pain and took a step back from Oakenshield, who didn't know what had happened. He looked at us, then back at Azog. He ran to him and kicked the wound, and creature fell flat on the ground. Thorin stepped over him and pierced him right through without hesitation.

Brothers and I exchanged glances and ran downstairs to Thorin. Dwarf departed from Azog's body and walked at a slow pace towards us. Without pausing for a moment, I threw myself on his neck. Dwarf grabbed me and hugged me back.

"You saved my life. " He said in my ear and I smiled slightly and looked at him.

"I couldn't let anything happen to you." I said and felt a tear run down my cheek. "I love you, father. " I added and hugged him again.

"I love you too, little flower. " He replied.

"And what about us? " Kili and Fili called simultaneously.

"Let it be. " Thorin laughed. "You too. I love you all." He added at which I laughed, and after a while we did something like a group hug.

The eagles that flew in a few moments later helped us win the battle. It seemed that it was finally over. We were just descending the hill when we found Bard and Gandalf and Bilbo.

"This is the end. " Gandalf said with a smile.

"Not yet. " I replied and walked over to the archer. "Could you give me the Arkenstone? " I asked.

"Do you want to destroy it? " Bard guessed.

" Yes. So that no one else would get this .. Dragon Madness. "

Bard nodded, and after a while he took a jewel from his pocket and gave it to me. I looked at it.

"May I? " Thorin asked and walked over to me.

I glanced at him.

"Don't worry, it's me. " He said. "I don't want... "

"I know. " I entered his words. I gave him the jewel and smiled slightly.

Oakenshield looked at the stone.

"You know, I think..." I started but didn't finish because something suddenly grabbed my neck and threw me into the air.

I flew a few meters screaming and fell to the ground.

I blinked several times. I struggled to get up on my arms and looked over there, to which I froze.

"Azog..." I said incredulously.

He swung at Thorin, who had dodged the first blow, but not the second.

The Pale Orc stabbed him right in the heart...
